Man, I guess i've really fallen for these babies, as I just won another one tonight. After finding a nearly mint condition 4516 earlier this week, I've managed to win a 4566 project shooter.
My goal was simple: find a solid 4566 of later manufacture, that I can refinish into a "stealth" shooter. By that, I mean one that i can buff off the S&W laser etchings from the slide and to bead blast the entire gun a uniform dull color. I found my canidate here, one with holster wear, as well as someone that already buffed the logo off. Now I just have to strip it, and send it off to be blasted.
Should be fun and a great shooter, especially considering the $350 I paid.
I'll be sure to post pics when I have it back.
