Black Friday at Xtreme Bullets. They have 20% off site wide. That's about as good as it gets at Xtreme. I bought 2000 148 gr DEWC's which will keep me going for a few months. I've loaded thousands of these the last few years and they shoot pretty good for me.

With their price creep, that sale gets them back to where they were regularly priced last year...at least with 44 and 45. Ordering from them used to be a thoughtless process for me....

Since I have just ordered a quantity of the HY-TEK coated from Summers Enterprises I went lighter on DE plated wadcutters from X-Treme.

I bought 1000 Mangus 240gr 44 cal LSWC at a recent gun show for a great price at closing time so I think I got enough bullets, primers and powder to last until spring time?

Exactly. Even with 20% off and free shipping, their 200gr 44 and 45 projectiles are still about 11 cents apiece.

I can get Summers hard cast (18 brinnell) for 6-7 cents each or coated for 7-8 cents apiece.

That doesn't sound like much - but it's a $1.50-$2.50 difference per box of reloads

EDIT: After a lot of vacillating I finally decided to place an order. I ponied up for 1000 of the 200gr RNFP in 44 cal. Mainly because that is one of my favorite pills for the 44 mag, and Summers doesn't sell any that exact weight (185gr is the closest they offer at this time).

Starting to shy away from xtreme since their prices do seem to creep up faster than most others. Makes their sales seem less of a savings. After finding summers bullets, believe that is the road I will be taking from now on.

They also have arebate offer for a 100 pieces of new brass per box. Semi auto only.

AFAIK that is only for bullets bought at Cabelas. I may be wrong about that, but don't think you can get the 100 pcs brass per box for bullets bought through Xtreme's website.

If you have found such a rebate coupon that can be redeemed on bullets purchased from the website, please post a link to it so we can all get in on the deal. Thanks.

You are correct. Cabela's rebate only. I don't usually(about never) buy bullets on line. The local Cabela's is usually fine for me. And they keep sending me coupons for so much off if I spend 50 dollars or whatever...So if I buy from them I get free shipping and the discount too. I got 20 bucks off yesterday with one of those cards...and no sales tax in Montana. Oh I'll get a couple hundred cases free now. Thanks for getting that straight

Darn! This is one of those times I would love to have been wrong. God knows I'm wrong often enough when there ISN'T a benefit to it! :D

Yeah And I don't usually make out with stuff like this. Usually a day late and a dollar short. I gotta stay away from that place. With all the closeout ammo I've bought in the last few days I'm going broke...But... I AM earning Cabela's club points....Which my wife will spend for me of course!

I've got 1000 of their 148gr DEWC I need to use.

What powder and weight do you use for them? Plated DEWC load data is non-existent. With the plated 158gr SWC I bought, I just ran them with fairly hot jacketed charges and had no problems at all, but there's no data for jacketed DEWCs, and I'm worried about using LDEWC data because I don't want to get a bullet stuck.

I've got to remember next year NOT to stock up during September and October.

I have been experimenting with AA No. 5 and I have pretty good success with about 6 gr which I believe gives me a 38 special +P load which I can shoot with good accuracy out of various barrel lengths. Hope that helps.

Xtreme doesn't seem to comment on loading their 148WC's, but Berry's does. Berrys suggests you keep velocities of plated 148WC's above 800 fps.

Alliant is no help with that; maybe because 148WC's have typically been run <800 fps. That's all that's needed for punching paper and it keeps leading down with a soft lead WC.

Hodgdon, however, lists many recipes >800fps with a LHBWC.

Hey so I guess you've noticed Xtreme has kept the 20% off going all weekend. Very Cool! Makes me wonder what they will do on Cyber Monday. Maybe 25%? Probably not but you never know.

With the plated DEWC from X-Treme I use 3.5gr of Titegoup in 357 magnum cases.

Using Hornady lead 148gr HBWC I use 3.3gr of Titegroup in the 357mag cases.

I just remembered Lyman has some LDEWC recipes. I guess I can start with higher loadings and work up until I see signs of overpressure. I'm not trying to max out my DEWC practice loads, I just want to keep them hot so I don't get a bullet stuck.

Can you use HBWC recipes with DEWC? It seems like the solid base would reduce volume inside the cartridge and raise pressures. I guess I could definitely use mid-strength HBWC loads as a starting point in any case.

I've also considered just seating the DEWCs like a SWC and running the same powder charges I've been using with plated 158gr SWC.

These guys leave a bad taste often and they find more inventive ways to do it endlessly. My gripe today is their absolute push of the term "site wide."

How would anyone define "site wide" ?
They have a clearance page and none of that gets the 20% discount applied.

Anyone who wants to label my post as whining, have at it. I have thick skin. Much like Xtreme, who never responds to complaints, like water off a duck's back.

My only revenge is that I used to review their product often and with all vigor the product deserves. I don't anymore.

I use Xtreme and Berry's 148gr with 3.0gr Bullseye with no problems. Have also used both brands of 158gr THP with 3.0gr Bullseye with no problems as well. Berry's are slightly more accurate at least in those configurations.

With new ammo costs dropping, eg. Rem UMC 115 9mm for about $0.12 /round, bullet manufacturers need to do a lot better to justify my business.

My order of 2000 38cal 148gr DEW placed on Black Friday is being shipped.

I certainly didn't expect such fast shipping since my order last year on the Black Friday deal took 1 month to ship.

x-treme

this past sunday I bought 1500 .38s, 500 9mm, a tshirt and some decals for my gun locker.

I was wondering about turn around time. it is Wednesday, and their website still says 'processing'. not really desperate, but curious on when I can expect some activity.

FWIW my order is supposed to arrive today.
If it does that will be a way faster turn around than last year.

Historically when they have a sale especially the 20% off sale it takes a while to ship, I have experienced up to two weeks if you order toward the end of the sale after numerous customers beat you to the punch.

They have not really ever been known for fast shipping.....I called them several years ago when I first ordered from them they told me then they only had two people in shipping and they get orders out as fast as they can. Some things don't change
