Black presentation case. Anyone know what it is?

It is a Pelson case. I have several of them and really like them...
I only have one Pelson (yes, Richard, I still have it...
)...I like it...It's an excellent fit for my 1954 shipped .357 Magnum...

Not current production. I don't know the exact dates, but I think that ad is from 1976.

Seems like a quality case for being 50 years old. I have no idea what it's worth.
It definitely looks like a quality case to me too. In fact, to my eyes, and from what I can see, it actually looks like it is nicer made than the factory blue/black presentation cases that the early .44 magnums came in. Of course they sell for hundreds, if not more, in nice condition. Unfortunately, even if your case is better quality, it doesn’t have the history of the factory cases. I have no knowledge of its value, but my WAG is $300-350. I like it a lot. Thanks for sharing.

$150 to $250, perhaps more for some of the specialty ones, such as for a Schofield.
I agree with Jeff - depending on the gun to be housed in the case and the condition of the case, I would pay $100 - $350.
