My SW9VE has a black slide, but I see nothing that tells me it is anything other than factory original. I don't think I have seen anything other than a frosted S. S. finish.
I see references to an Allied Forces model, but I do not know how these are marked.
I bought this pistol new in 2007.
I also have a SW 40VE, with a S. S. slide.
My question is my 9VE the model before the AF model.
Thanks

Allied Forces version has the black slide. It is the exact same model, just with a black slide.

If your sigma is a sw9ve and has a black slide it is a AF model. That's the only difference really. Mine has no special markings.

My question is my 9VE the model before the AF model.

Nope. The Sigma with a melonite coated carbon steel slide before the AF model is called the SW9E (the barrel is coated too). The V stands for stainless steel. The AF series is a special run of SW9VE's with melonite coated stainless steel slide and plain stainless barrels.

Marked as a plain SW9VE. I'd never even heard of an "Allied Forces" model until long after I bought it. As far as I know there is nothing marked on the gun or the box anywhere to indicate it being an "Allied Force" gun.

I have an AF edition .40 and I can't see anything on the box tag, but they did put a piece of tape on it with the initials AF.

I failed to mention, mine has a black frame.
I do like the looks of the black slide better than the S. S. slide.
Thanks again to each of you!
