BLOG--ON THE LOCATION OF MEMBERS

I always think it funny when someone who won't even give his state in his profile asks "Does anyone know a good gunsmith, source of parts, reloading supplies....... in my area?" Duh, what "area" would that be Sherlock?????

OK. I updated my location from Texas to Houston, Texas. Let's see... I'm about one and a half miles east-northeast of the world famous Collector's Firearms. My user name can be decoded to read K. W. Selke, and my friends call me Ken. My worst trait is that I own a Glock 19 and like it.

I've never made a secret about where I live, and I encourage everyone to come visit! Seriously, if any one of you comes to visit the Seaside/Cannon Beach area, give me a heads up, I love playing tour guide!

I post my location, and I'm not hard to find, right across the St. Croix river from Hudson, WI. But since Facebook, I no longer like to use my real name on the internet.

If I could post my entire sig line, it would read: "The gods prefer the hidden, and scorn the obvious".

I like knowing where folks live. It does not scare me that someone knows my real name or where I live.
Wish more felt this way.
Blessings
Well, my real name is David, but I can't be sure if everybody agrees with what I have to say. It's good to be safe.;) I live in Tennessee and have fast truck.

I live ten miles outside of Mt. Vernon, Texas. I'm off the beaten path, a long way off. Once you leave the main road everything becomes one-lane back roads, some unmarked, that wind and fork and a few that dead-end. When I give directions, many people will call, frustrated after they've driven around for a while, and complain that they can't find my place. I finally had to tell people I invite to the house that if they have trouble finding me, go back to the main road, call me on the cell and I'll drive out and lead them in.

I have no choice but to keep it on the down low, if my wife finds out how many guns I have I'm going to be in big trouble. Somewhere in NJ, home of a future boating accident.

I'm not hiding from anybody but living alone out in the country can lead to very few visitors. Heck, I don't even get the folks giving out the religious material. Come on by anytime and we'll swap yarns and step out back in the woods for a little shootin'.

Interesting that only one poster out of 28 to date commented on this with no location in their header and yet states New Jersey!

I too like to know where our members are from, but many will not fill in where they live. It has been asked in the past why members don't list their location, but I have not yet read a good reasons for not listing at least their state???

John and I (Jennifer) live about an hour East of Sacramento, CA. We welcome any visitors too and we have had several people visit John's grip making shop/man cave. You can pick out wood for grips or unfinished grips, load ammo, fix your car, BBQ something and hang out with a dozen tame and wild feral cats.:p
