"Blue Bloods" gun question

In the last episode I saw of, "Blue Bloods", Danny wounded a perp with his gun and held it on him as he took the guy into custody.

His gun looked like a stainless S&W automatic. I think maybe a 6906 or something on that order; didn't see it too well.

Does anyone know what it is? What do the other cast members carry? I seldom see their guns. Tom Selleck wears some snubby under his coat.

I realize that they may not carry guns actually authorized by NYPD, but isn't some DA-only S&W 9mm on their approved list? I think they have a choice of it or a Glock 19 or a DA-only P-226 SIG. I think RCMP also issues a DA-only small 9mm S&W to their detectives. Their uniformed personnel have the 5946, if I recall the model.

Danny normally carries a Kahr when on duty. The episode you mention looked like a Smith semi auto.
