I am looking for S&W Model 14 & Model 15

Is there a good source for blue book prices or used prices for these models?

I have seen prices from $600 to $900 for used S&W MODEL 14-4 6" -- I know prices are a little nuts right now, but trying to get a gage so I do not get burned too badly

To me, the best way to determine current the market value is to search the classifieds here on the forum, and also completed auctions on Gunbroker, to see what they have been selling for. Make sure you look at what they are SELLING for, not what folks are ASKING for them.

I'm not sure on prices now but before the current gun control talk started the model 14 in really good condition was around $450 and the Model 15 was around $500 around here.

Forget the "blue book". That thing has little connection with reality.
Most everything sells for prices higher.
IMHO its at best buying guide that dealers use as a basis to discount down to their trade-in/buy numbers.

I saw a couple K-38s at a gun show a few weeks ago, both dated from the mid-50s priced at $425 for a 6" with chipped diamond magnas and $450 for a 4" that looked pretty clean, call it 95%. The 6" with the thin barrel rib handled really well. I liked the balance, the patridge sight and the longer sight picture. If I could have had the good grips with the 6" gun I would have bought it. Should have bought it anyway.

I second Taro's opinion, the Blue Book is best used for reference, and not really good at that, and a door stop, which it isn't really good for either.
