Ran across a 4" blue model 15-4. The owner said it's new in the box with tools and paperwork. If it's what he says it is,what would be a fair price to offer? He's asking $750,i was think more in the $650 range. I don't want to low ball him, just make a fair offer.

I think $650 is a fair offer
But, NIB, they don't make them like they used to (except the manufacture Mountain Guns)
How bad do you want it?

For NIB, I do not think that $750 is out of line in 2025. If you wanted to, you could negotiate and starting at $650 is not a bad idea. Maybe settle at $700? I think the bigger question is do you want this as a collector piece or are you looking for a shooter? I would not pay for a collector grade firearm just to shoot it and reduce its future value.

I think we're at the point where there is a premium for top condition M15s... they were mostly service guns, and the condition of the typical M15 on the market reflects that. A 'like new' or unfired gun will command a significantly higher price. The average gun may be a $550-650 gun, but I don't think $700+ is too much for a high condition example.

I recently sold a 15-3 for $700. It was a factory reblue, back when they were doing it right, and it looked like a brand new gun. The dealer I consigned it through didn't think it would bring that, but it did, and quickly.

My 18-4 came from the factory with a TT and TH. Don't know about the 15-4 in question but if it has them it should add a bit to the price.

Price would depend on if it is a TT, TH, and TS version. Still finding a bone basic NIB 15-3 is uncommon these days. Let the bargaining begin, but don't haggle too long if you want it.

Update: The owner got confused with the two model 15's he mentioned. Rather than the 15-4,it's a 15-6 LNIB. He it belonged to his uncle. Still in the factory box, with tools, and paperwork. Still asking $750.
