S&W 649

I've been trying to contact this seller about their 649. I finally were able to get a response. They are asking $600. What are these going for now days? I know you don't see them very often. Looking at the pictures. It looks to be pretty nice. No box or paperwork. Just trying to get an idea if a fair price to offer.

That's on the high end of normal around here (rural NM), but you almost never see them.

I looked at one the other day 800.00 if it was 600.00 I would have two

I snatched up a 649-3 for $499 at my gun shop, and 649-1 for $450 on Gunbroker. I had to basically haunt a the auction and ambush the bid at the last moment to place a bid with an odd number. The guy I was competing with tried to get it as cheap as possible and missed it. I am always looking for a few more of those. If the spirit moved me, I would have no problem buying one for $600. I would have paid that for that 649-3 without hesitation. 649s are not as easy to find out there.

I paid over $800 on GB for a 649-3 and the last one that went on GB before that was $950 - didn't have a box or papers and mine didn't either. There's what these list for and might out of pure luck find in a gun store, but if you want one, you will have to pay the market price on the day you buy it.

I snatched one at a local shop a couple of years ago and I think I paid $450 for it. Years ago i never cared for the looks of them but now I really like them. Mine is a -2.
