A lot of folks here on the forum have been after me for years to hang out a shingle, well Sir, I finally gone and done it. Now operating as "BMCM Custom" out of Natchez Mississippi.

So my main focus is on 3rd gen guns... well 2nd gens too suppose.

Not an all inclusive list but here's what I can offer off the top of my head:

Sight Installations.
Sight blades changed on factory adjustable (ie dots, plain, white outline or tritium)
Refinishing/abrasive blasting stainless components.
Grip enhancements ie hand cut checkering and or stippling on steel
10mm conversions for CS10 and single stack 40's.
Mags modified for 10mm.
Modest carry bevels.
Mild dehorning to full blown carry melts.
Machining slide for spring loaded decocker.
Extractors fitted and gauged
Decock timing checked and sear release levers fitted
Trigger play springs installed
Novak low mount backsights fitted to 2nd gens
Stainless steel guiderods made in 3 diameters and any length
.236" for nested recoil spring set
.290" for single recoil springs
.250" for ISMI flatwire springs
Flatwire recoil spring conversions
Action work
De-burr & recut crowns
Polish feedramp (not that they really need it)
TIG welding

Stuff I'm not equipped to do:
Blueing
Parkerising
Nitriding (although I know a couple outfits who can)
Refinishing aluminum (anodizing)
Spray painting

Like I said above, my focus is on the 2nd and 3rd gen guns in support of the community here because I think they are outstanding arms owned by outstanding people. That being said, I suppose if you need a Garand re-barreled or an FAL built I can see to that as well. I'm not particularly interested in building ARs either, there's plenty of kids out there already doing that. Not that it takes a great deal of intellect to slap an AR together:rolleyes:

Anyhow, should you need something done hit me up with a PM and we can get on the phone or skype and discuss your job.

And a Big Thank You! to all the members who supported & encouraged me to start this enterprise:D You know who you are:cool:

Cheers
Bill

A couple of questions.

Do you have, or plan to have a website?

Could you do a shave/melt on stainless decock/safety levers?

Oh, about ten minutes ago, I was going to ask in the 3rd Gen as duty weapons thread if you were planning on going into business. ESP or something. :D

Wow great news... do you plan to offer up the "conversion bushing" that allows the use of the smaller diameter 4516-2 guide rod and nested recoil spring setup on a 4516/4516-1, with the larger diameter guide rod hole in the slide?

I think it was you that supplied me with one many years ago, and you only had a couple available then.

No website yet but I'm would like to do something along those lines mostly just to self-host all my pictures since Photobucket broke all my linked images and damned if I'll pay them $400/year for third party hosting.

Shave levers? sure no problem just tell me how many steps you want off or left. As an aside, I don't recommend slimming the levers down on a spring loaded decocker. That spring is pretty stout and I lprefer the larger purchase on the fullsize levers for that.

Cheers

Reducing bushings in two ID's for both the factory "skinny" guiderod and a 1/4" guiderod for use with a flatwire spring. I like to have the slide in hand for precise fitting since I've seen quite a bit of variance in the ID of the spring tunnel on different guns. I like the bushing to be a tight interference fit secured with Loctite 620. Some time back I made some special punches just for installing & removing these bushings. Pics are my 1006 and 4506 with bushings for the flatwire setup, new guiderod for my 4506 and some loose bushings in different sizes.

Cheers
Bill

Congrats BMCM!! :)

Now I have to figure out what I want to send to you first!! ;)

You are a true craftsman and we are VERY fortunate to have you! Thank you for doing this! I wish you much success! Best regards, 18DAI

I echo everyone's enthusiasm for your new enterprise, Master Chief; it's the best news I've seen on the Forum in quite a while! And I have a 4566 with "trigger click" that I'll be sending you once things quiet down a bit with what I'm sure will be a torrent of requests for your fine work. Best of luck to you!

I just want to know how many of my 3rd Gens I can send him at one time... :D ... and does he have an "easy payment" plan? :) ;)

No, but the trick would be getting through New York State without ending up in prison for the next 10-15 years. :(

A "Life sentence"....... according to one, who will remain nameless, but is always bemoaning how few good years they have left!

:D

Maybe BMCM will build you your "dream" 3rd Gen Smith.... on a frame you already own (legal) in the PR of Mass.
