If you've got one, please share your experiences with respect to reliability, feeding, recoil spring/rod, etc. Any known issues?

Thanks -

Rich

I have had one for about 4 months now and have not had any issueswith factory ammo or hand loads. Got about 400 rounds through it. Cleaned it 3 times. Would buy again.
Following up on the good Doctor's questions, did you note differences in recoil, compared with the standard model.

I do own both and yes, I can feel that the Compensated version is a little less snappy. I like both versions. I put an ArmaLaser on the original version and that is my EDC. I practice at the range mostly with the Comp version.

I don't see the need for a comp model. The standard 2.0 doesn't have much if any recoil. Like the Glock V models, S&W milking the 2,0 for more profit.

It's a compelling, slightly finicky piece of tech that shows S&W is swinging for the fences. Rent one first if you can, and put 150 rounds of your chosen carry ammo through it. If it runs flawlessly for you, it's a hell of a tool. If it gives you grief in that first session, you'll know it's not your match.

I am hesitant to post here as I am very much a newbie so if you are also a newbie please take this with a grain of salt. If you are more experienced please make any corrections.
My limited pistol experience is a Glock 19 at the range. I just purchased a BG 2.0 last week. Having shot 50 rounds with a rental 2.0, my only concern was my ancient hands ability to rack it. Recoil was crisp but not painful. In the gun shop I could not tell much difference racking the Ruger LCP Max vs the 2.0. When I handled it at home I was most disappointed. I really needed a rag over the rack to lock it back and couldn't release the rack without releasing the mag.
In desperation I found this great site and read what ever I found on the 2.0. The Talon rack grip was recommended so I ordered it but have not gotten it yet so can't comment yet I am sure it can't hurt. Alot of folks wrote about different recoil springs but there seemed to be return to battery problems with weaker springs. So I kept working the rack to help loosen it. I didn't have the nerve to use a polish compound like was suggested for fear of grit in the mechanism.
Finally I got the idea to remove the spring and the barrel and just work the slide without the spring. It was still stiff even without the spring in! Frame to rack alignment issue?? I am sure I cycled it over 200 times and reoiled it again. Bottom line is with the spring back installed, I can now lock and release the rack with less effort. Have yet to get to the range but I am hopeful it will loosen up with use.
BTW the rack on my Glock 19 slides very easily with the spring removed.
Hope this helps another newbie without any wrong information.

Shouldnt be that hard unless you have grip strength issues. Its probably just because the slide is so small compared to your Glock. Unless something is getting bound up and dragging you just need to keep handling it and getting use to it. You will adapt.

Push pull method if you are not doing it already to rack the slide.

I have one and have had zero issues with it (Other than having to move the rear sight a little bit to get it more precisely on target). I am a retired and current LEO and I qualified with mine to carry as an off duty/backup gun. 100 rounds during the qualification course (day and night) and I had zero issues with it.

Thank you. And yes I do have grip strength issues.
Bodyguard 2.0 is still pretty new. I wouldnt give up on it. Im sure someone will be making slide racker assist add ons before long. Seems like a fairly common complaint about them. Just part of the deal when you go with this smaller 380s.

I remember back when the Keltec p11 first came out I thought the slide was a bear to rack but I dont even notice it now and that was 20+ years ago. I was use to more full size handguns though where the recoil spring is not as strong (more slide mass). Bodyguard 2.0 is even stiffer with a loaded magazine because all the pressure is being pushed up into the slide.

I own 2 BG 2.0’s. The original and the performance center carry comp. One of the things that I did when I first got each was to lock the side open and just leave it sit open for a few days. I would also work the slides while watching tv. Same thing with the manual safety, very stiff at first but with regular manipulation they loosened up.

It will be noticeably easier to rack when you have fired a few hundred rounds. Meanwhile, you only have to rack it once for a range session as the slide locks back when the mag is empty. An Uplula can really help with loading mags.

I have arthritic hands myself. I feel your pain. My experience is the lower the cost of the pistol, the more break in it takes. This is not a bad thing, it means the tolerances are tight. Keep shooting and dry racking it and it will loosen up just fine. I personally like the stiff safety and with some practice you probably will too. It does loosen up some from the original stiffness.

Talon rack grip works for me on my Shield X, don't have a BG 2 ...
