Took my Bodyguard 2.0 out to the second outing and put another 100 rounds through it, and what I considered might be a grip issue is still present - it shoots a few inches to left consistently at 7 yards, even from a rest, left handed, and with multiple shooters trying it out. I had a sight pusher at the range and centered them (they did appear off) to no avail, so I tried dialing it in further. No luck. Even with the front and rear practically hanging off the slide, I was not able to improve shot placement. This leads me to believe that either the slide or barrel are machined improperly, or something else is going on (barrel / ammo mismatch or something going on with the rifling). I plan on reaching out to customer service, but after a long waiting period and transfer fees, I’m not excited about the prospect of getting it replaced.

An interesting thing I discovered during troubleshooting is that the LCP Max sights have the same dovetail cut, so I was able to swap them over thinking that the narrower rear notch would help. This means that the aftermarket sights for the LCP Max (Truglo tritium front / rear, XS Big Dot, etc) will all fit. Forgot to get pictures of that, but it fit perfectly and might be a good option for people wanting a tighter sight picture and a smoother sight for appendix carry.

Ignore the left two targets, those are all over the place while trying to walk the sights in - the right most target is after trying everything.

Front sight as well? I'm just curious as to why S&W would tell me the front sight dovetail was unique to the BG 2.0?

Could you please describe how much the POI changed with each change you made to the sights.

Thanks for sharing, especially the sight information.

Were both front and rear sights interchangeable with LCP Max? Thanks!

Mine shot similar to the target on the right from the factory . Maybe not quite that severe .

Pushing the rear sight only to near the right edge of the dove tail brought the group right to center

Can somebody explain how the sights can be pushed so far without changing the point of impact.:confused:

Based off of this

"Even with the front and rear practically hanging off the slide, "

I'm worried maybe he was moving them both in the same direction, thus negating the changes. Otherwise I don't know how it would possible to have them almost hanging off opposite side and not having an impact on poi

Sounds as though seldon 14 has hit the nail on the head.

Mine shoots left about the same. Interesting about the Ruger Max sights, I actually prefer them the Bodyguard sights. (The only thing I prefer about the Ruger). I wonder how a sight swap would work? (The Ruger shot low for me).
I am going to have my front sight centered tomorrow and see how it shoots. The 2.0 is a winner!

Was looking at LCP Max front site today and definitely like it over S&Ws - it’s bigger circumference wise and I can see it better, might buy one. Meanwhile, I’d like to try the Truglow sights but I’m concerned the rear sight might overhang in the rear.

Pretty sure there will be replacement sights available from the companies in that business. Are the stock ones that bad that folks can't wait until those become available?

Stock is fine if you don’t have whopper vision like I, lol!

I called Tru-Glo and they told me that the sights from the BG1 will NOT Fit the BG2.0

Interesting because some folks say BG 380 sights work on LCP Max and LCP Max sights work on BG 2.0, gotsta love misinformation spewed by companies and users, lol!

Yeah, turns out I’m an idiot and was chasing the sights and complicating things. Centered both up and nudged the front sight towards the POI, and now it’s dead nuts accurate at 7 yards. Maybe a 2” group from a rest. So, not only is it accurate, but we have options as far as sights go! Sorry for leading anyone astray with regards to the grouping, but you live and you learn.

Could you post a side-view photo showing the LCP Max sights in relation to the end of the slide.

I just ordered a LCP Max front sight for my BG 2.0. I’ll report back with results and pics, won’t leave you interested die hard folks hanging!

How were you able to change out the sights? My sight pusher won't fit the BG2.0 slide and the rubber vise blocks don't seem get a good hold on the slide to keep it from tilting while trying to drive out the factory sights.

Haven’t got my front sight yet but I would imagine I’ll have to use a punch. Was going to purchase a Real Avid pusher but they said it would be difficult on front because of rounded slide.

Yea!
So glad for you that this worked out. Kudos to the one who figured out you were moving both sights simultaneously, I guess I should have seen that too but I didn't.

I have been helped similarly on this forum several times and I am so grateful that I became a contributor, (hint hint!)

Congrats on the gun and
Kind Regards!

I have a Grace USA 4 oz brass hammer that I use with brass rods found at the hardware store. The hammer is super useful. Grace USA has a list of places that sell their items.

The rods can be flattened on one side with a file. Makes getting into tight dovetails much easier. Please do post how the new sight works or if it does not. Thank you so much.
