Bought new about a year ago, no laser, no safety, despite all the bad news posts. First range trip last rd wouldn't feed from either mag, ended up nose up in ejection port. My Lord, they were right! Back to Smith. Returned with new and longer mag springs. Now have 1300 rds thru, perfect. Love it. So, QUIT IT!

I put stronger mag springs in mine because I have a tendency to ride the slide stop. This is a problem with "me" not the gun. The gun has always met my expectations.

Glad to hear. They sure look like a neat hide-out piece and fun to shoot. Of the recent .380s I am torn between the Bodyguard and the Remington .380.

Never had a single issue with mine except for 2 light strikes in the same box of **** steel ammo

I had 1000 rounds of Black Hills remanufactured .380 of which at least 10% would not fire in our M&P .380 or Glock 42. Bad experiment LOL

I liked mine until just north of 800 rounds light strikes started, about once every mag. Got the Gen Two LCP (not the LCPII) and never looked back. The real shame is I liked the Smith design much better than Ruger's but its gotta work every time. My LCP is only carried when very deep concealment is needed, otherwise my EDC is my 340PD.

The LCP 2 has had my attention for a while but I am waiting to see if the rumors of a bodyguard 2 are true. Not only that but I simply have no issues with my BG.

Started carrying my Mod.2 more anyway, so its a moot point.

My BG380 has always been my favorite mouse gun, until Light Strikes began to occur at: 1,500rds. It is now up for consignment.
I too, am hoping for a Generation 2 BG380!

Even if a new design for the BG comes out from S&W I'd stay away from it for at least a year. New designs frequently have bugs to be worked out. I learned this the hard way.

I bought one, sold it after dry firing it once. Piece of junk. I bought a Ruger Custom LCP. It works every time, and I carry it around the farm. I still carry my .45 when off of it.

Mine has been flawless so far. No laser and no safety. Shoots nicely at self defense distance and so easy to carry. Even though most people complain about it, I don't have a problem with the long, heavy double action trigger pull.

My wife and I both have one. Hers has the laser, mine does not. We don't have a bunch of rounds thru either one of them, but so far each has been flawless.

:)ZERO Problems just over 1800 round in two and a half years:)All stock no springs, triggers or add+1 thru banana magazines.Just knowing what I have for a pistol and maintaining it properly.

My BG has somewhere between 400 to 500 rounds through it now and has not had any light strikes. Last 150 rounds have been Perfecta as I hear they have hard primers but all went bang on the first pull. The BG isn't for everyone, like retired LEOs or Deputies but for the rest who really like it, shoot on and if it starts to light strike, send it in for new springs and you're back in business.

Yes, the trigger pull is long, but it's smooth and consistent thru the entire pull. I actually prefer it over striker fired and I also have a 9c.

Love mine. Took two trips back to S&W before they got it right.

To the owners that use the BG380 as a CCW.
Don't fool yourself into thinking the weapon is 100% reliable! Many have posted they have had no issues with their piece and they have never encountered a. Light Strike! While this is probably true in cases where low count practice and target shooting is prevalent, anyone who has shoot the gun repeatedly and has a round count of 1K-2.5k have invariably had some at some point, but are reluctant to admit it, even to themselves! They blame it on the ammo, hard primers, or anything they surmise might be to blame other than the gun. They further justify their reluctance to accept any issues with LS as, "I have the second strike capability and it will fire next trigger pull."
I would never trust my life or my wifes', to a weapon that can't be trusted to perform as intended! Don't be misled as I have by claims of, "It is very reliable, and you always have the ability to pull the trigger a second or third time."
I loved my BG380 until I began to have issues with it. I am now looking at a P238 as a replacement!

I don't consider 2 in 1200 a concern. Especially with double strike capability.

My Glock 19 would light strike every 100 rounds or so. Should I not trust a Glock 19?

No! I am saying don't become complacent with your weapons.
If you have any issues with them, analyze the probable cause and go from there!
