Bodyguard 380...Love it or List it?

What are the newest serial numbers for the bodyguard 380? Looking to buy a used one and wanted to make sure i was getting a newer model.

Nick, welcome to you as well! S&W changed to an MIM barrel recently but can't remember the starting S/N. I have an EBN and it's machined. Probably doesn't matter, I just prefer the machined look. I do know that any EBxxxxx will be machined and have the major bugs addressed/fixed.

Well, are you a new owner yet?

FYI, on the Bodyguard 380 forum, Eric Galloway posted that the firing pins protos are in and are being tested. They should be available very soon if all goes well.

I have a question about DAO pistols, probably a stupid one, but I know nothing about them, so...here goes. I've been looking into buying a Bodyguard 380 for concealed carry. My only experience with semi-autos is the Beretta M9 and M96. Do these compact DAO pistol have the full-blown double action trigger pull with each shot, like a DAO revolver, or just the first shot? When I fire my Beretta 96, the first pull on the trigger (double action) is pretty tough, but on the follow-up shots the trigger pull is scary light. Is this the case with the Bodyguard, or does the trigger finger get a constant work-out?

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris. The BG 380 requires a full double action trigger pull on every shot.

I see...thanks for the response. I'm not sure I'd care for that, in a semi-auto. I'm more of a revolver guy...I have a Ruger LCR (which has an excellent trigger pull) for my current concealed carry gun, and SW model 19 for general purpose, but have been looking at small pistols lately. Frankly, aside from having one or two more rounds, and quicker reloading, I don't see a lot of advantage with the small DAO pistols. I guess they're slightly more concealable...
