I am looking at picking up a used Bodyguard 380 that is approximately a year old. I have read mixed reviews on the gun and in some posts I noticed serial #'s referenced with issues so was there an issue with specific serial # series or something I should be looking at before I make this purchase?

I don't know of any issues with specific serial# series. They are good pistols and I would not be afraid to buy it assuming it does not have a known problem. Make sure to put some Loctite Blue on the laser retaining screw when you get it so it doesn't back out on you.

My wife gave me a 380 Bodyguard for Christmas, and so far I love it. Easy to conceal, easy to maintain and pretty accurate. I would think every hand gun ever made would have mixed reviews because 1) everyone has different taste/priorities 2) There is going to be flaws in anything manufactured today, never 100%. Read and research (as you are doing now) as much as possible 3) some people will never be happy.
I give it a thumbs up so far, maybe see if the person selling it will let you fire it and have him show you a little about it before you buy it?

I like my BG380...I have had no problems at all with it...I know they had firing pin problems with some of the early models but don't know the specifics....if you search the forum I am pretty sure anything you want to know is here....good luck...as mentioned see if the seller cwill let you fire it 1st.
