I find that the safety gets easier to operate as the gun breaks in. It's still going to be stiff, but I count this as a feature, not a problem. I know a lot of people who CC don't even use the safety (feeling that the long, stiff trigger pull will keep them out of trouble), but I like knowing that my gun won't want to go bang until I've given it permission.
I find the easiest way to activate the safety is to use the inside of the knuckle of my right thumb (me being a right-handed shooter). My natural grip puts that knuckle right above the safety lever as I'm drawing the gun, and it only takes a very natural movement to click the safety off (to the point where it's almost automatic without even thinking about it)... it's natural because my thumb starts out near the top of the slide when I'm drawing, and slides down over the safety lever as I'm bringing the gun to a firing position, passing right over the safety lever.
Hope that helps... I suspect the previous poster might have the laser "problem" figued out (though the suggestion to clean the lens is obviously a good one too - you'll find when you fire a lot of rounds through the BG380, the laser starts getting "fuzzy" as gunpowder residue builds up on the laser's lens).
