Good afternoon all!

Needing some help with my Bodyguard 380.

Ive had this gun for a few years and had it a part multiple times. I know these little guns can be finicky when it comes to reassembly, but I've never had an issue. Until today.

I was able to get the slide on the frame and it quickly became stuck. I can get it to move an inch back and forth (with difficulty). As you can see the barrel is stuck in the slide and not falling properly.

I can not get this thing unstuck. Ive tried to be delicate and I've tried to be forceful.

Any thoughts?

I don’t have a Bodyguard, but this has worked on other pistols that had the guide rod slip out of position or was installed incorrectly.

Grab the front of the guide rod with a pair of pliers and pull it forward. If the guide rod isn’t properly seated, it can seize up the slide. If you’re worried about marking the rod tip, wrap it with some tape.

You may need to try moving the slide a bit while pulling on the rod. Hold the gun upright while you’re doing it. The back of the rod is probably wedging the barrel up and preventing it from dropping down and unlocking from the slide.
