Bodyguard or LCP?

I agree, USAF, with everything you said. I have never shot a BG but would like to. The LC9 is an odd size. Too big for pocket carry, too small for IWB. I carry mine IWB or in my vest pocket.

I can do pocket carry with a M&P9c just as well as with the LC9 or PF9. It just takes a coat pocket and we don't use those much around here.

I had a DB380 that was very unreliable. It went back to the factory twice. After the second trip they sent me a new gun that I immediately traded for an LCP. it was going to be a stop gap until I could afford a Kahr P380.
Four hundred trouble free rounds and the addition of Pearce mag extensions and a Crimson Trace laser later, it goes everywhere with me.
I will be carrying my Kahr CM9 or my CW9 when colder weather hits. That is unless I really like the 3913 I have on layaway.

i had both the lcp was great but was stolen, bg 380 i bought, shot and sold all in a two day period. the trigger was terrible and the buttons for the laser didn't work properly. suggestion would be lc9 by ruger. just a tad bigger, holds 7 rds and is about the same price. + its a 9mm

Received the P380 back from Kahr after they replaced the frame. Performance and reliability is much better. A hundred or so more rounds without malfunction problems will raise my level of confidence to that which is currently reserved for my PM9 and M&P 40C.

As far as my debate between the BG380 / LCP goes, the BG380 won out. I purchased an EAR prefix serial number last night. I'm hoping for the same flawless performance experienced by so many others.

During my search I visited many different firearm retail stores and spoke with several salesmen. It's kind of funny how one shop would speak highly of the BG while another right down the street called it a piece of junk. Reminded me of the differing opinions and experiences of internet bulletin board posters. I finally just made up my mind to try the one that most appealed to me. If it doesn't work out then it'll be sold / traded and on to something else.

I got an LCP because the bodyguard wasn't readily available here and the price on the LCP was right. It is very small, the sights are terrible, but it's not bad to shoot, the trigger gets better with use and it's extremely easy to carry in a pocket. I also have the LC9 which is far superior to the LCP in every way...more power, much better trigger, better sights, and accurate as all get out. When our CCW takes effect in November, I'll likely carry the LC9 in a Remora IWB holster when I'm not carrying my M&P .40 compact. Or, maybe when I am :-)

Between the two, I'd go for the LCP. I owned one with a CT for a while, and it was a shooter. The bodyguard laser is a joke, and they have had all sorts of problems with the buttons falling out. The CT on teh LCP is there when you grip, unlike the "where's the darn thing at" button on the bodyguard.
I sold mine and bought a Kahr CM9 with a CT and highly recommend it. Smaller than the LC9 and not much bigger than the LCP. And LOTS more energy with 9mm +P.

LCP in a galco horsehide front pocket is with me anywhere i can legaly carry it. love it. pearce grip ext on mags, hornady critical defense. its a companion to my 442-2. galco combat master, speer gold dot +p. also a speed loader by 5-star firearms. never had a prob with the LCP. sights are crude finish aint great, but it has never ftf, ftf, fte.

I have the BG380 and love it the sights are good it fits my hand
ok for as small as it is and I can shoot well and getting better all of the time, never had it jam with any ammo (350 rounds).

I was looking at the same thing between the LCP and the bodyguard. I bought the bodyguard because it fit in my hand better and I didn't like that every time I held the LCP the laser comes on. My friend let me hold his LCP for a week and it got annoying. I got the bodyguard and it was a EAS serial number and I have had no problems with it. I don't get what people talk about the laser button be to hard and not convenient to get to. I was actually walking in a parking lot and a car rolled up real slow with people yelling out of the car and I grabbed my gun and had my laser on (pulse mode) before I got it out my pocket. Practice makes perfect. Love it and I am glad I made that move.

Bodyguard 380 is superior

The bodyguard 380 is a superior weapon, better sights and ergonomics. Has a safety, 2mags vice one for the LCP, slide locks open after last round in the magazine, and is very accurate. I got mine for $350 and in the Fort Belvoir gunshop customers chose the BG over the LCP when they can compare the two. Excellent handling and firing weapon.

I have not shot, just fondled the bodyguard, but I have to say that it felt good. And I'm sure they have gotten the early kinks worked out and it would be a fine gun.

Having said that, I personally ended up with the LCP. It just sort of fell in my lap, and they are really affordable, so I thought I'd try it out. It is a great candidate for pocket carry, in everything from shorts to jackets.

I have also been impressed with how well I can shoot the little gun. I had to change the way I engage the trigger with my finger, putting a little less of my finger on the trigger, or the pull is so long it almost never ends, but a few minutes and about 50 rounds and I was able to get really consistant 4-5" groups from 30 feet, unrested at a fairly fast rate of fire.

I doubt you'd be sorry with either, for what you want to use it for.
