First time for me watching this and late at night. Kurt Russell and posse, having it out with the troglodyte's. Not a flick for everyone.

I liked Kurt better taking on the Clantons.
Bone is an interesting movie!
For the non supernatural crowd, but still plenty weird-
The Homesman.
Tommy Lee, Hillary Swank, others you’ll recognize.

Like it a lot.

Love the stilted but humorous
dialog.

Richard Jenkins as the old "back up
deputy" is a treasure.

Checking the cast, what's interesting
is that the nine adult male troglodytes
are all accomplished actors with very
extensive screen credits.

I loved it! Not often you get to see a Merwin, Hulbert & Co revolver in action against cannibals.

The director and screenwriter, S. Craig Zahler, has written some really good hyper-violent western novels (Wraiths of the Broken Land, and A Congregation of Jackals). He’s also come under fire for being unapologetically “unwoke” as a film director. Check out Brawl in Cell Block 99 and Dragged Across Concrete.

S. Craig Zahler Doesn’t Care What You Think of His Movies - The Ringer

I just started it again on Netflix.

I've seen it twice. Second time I knew what was coming and chose to not watch that one part of the cave scene. Those in the know will understand. Absolutely horrific!

Good movie and the director's movie Dragged Across Concrete is pretty good too.

Several guys at work were ranting about it being one of the best movies they had ever seen.
I thought it was OK, the script had too many gaps it it to be great.

About cannibal cave men? We have later examples among pre Aztecs in the American SW.

But cannibalism existed among primative and modern humans.

Peter Capstick discussed them in his book, Maneaters, and this has been discovered among prehistoric humans.

Sounds like a more graphic version of the ape men on, The Lost World.

But bone tomahawks probably exist.

You need to see this movie!
It starts off slow and easy, just another Oater.
Then it goes into a direction unexpected and hard to describe!

The Japanese were well known for eating Allied prisoners of war. One was rescued alive and the Japanese had cut of a part (arm, leg IIRC) every day. It was by choice not of necessity!

Back to the subject at hand=Bone was a surprising movie for Kurt. I did enjoy Hateful Eight better.

I liked the movie a lot, Russell was really good in it. Was a little rough to watch in places, but I thought it was well done.

Perhaps as a prelude to "Bone
Tomahawk," which takes place
in the 1890s, one should watch
"Ravenous" with Guy Pearce.
It's a tale of a remote Army
outpost in the 1850s Pacific
Northwest. :)

Remember bingeing my way through 'Hell on Wheels'.
Who knew the West was won with perfectly clean and polished Uberti's? ;)
