Boots and Shorts-Discrimination

Boots outside your pants is and has always been a sure sign of a dude. You can't feed in them without hay getting inside, they would fill up with whatever dried crud you kneeled in and catch on a saddle skirt. In the winter when your 5 buckle over shoes went on top a bale could drop and tear the buckles off so they get tucked inside. Even if you never touch a bale from cutting it to feeding it it still marks you as a fool in cattle country.

Haha My chief asked me last night why i Tucked my Class B's into my 511 boots.

I simply replied in a loud, exaggerated and winded voice

"CAUSE THATS HOW ITS DONE CHIEF! THATS HOW ITS DOOOOOOONE".

Before walking away calmly :-D haha

When ever I do a fashion mistake my wife gives me "the look" and says "are you wearing that"?
My standard answer is "I got it on don`t I"?

Growing up we were told that a cattleman wore his pants outside his boots, and that pants tucked into your boots meant you were a sheepherder. Despite the fact that we did raise sheep, as well as cattle, we didn't want to be accused of it and wore pants outside the boots.

I have a discrimination complaint or rant, what ever you wish to call it.

Last week my wife and I observed a nice looking young lady wearing shorts and cowboy boots. Not seductive but she did look nice, in a class sort of way.

Both my wife and I agreed.

Now its been hot lately and I've taken to wearing shorts. But because of the weeds and stickers around my place I kept my boots, they are work style cowboy boots but are in fairly good shape for as old as they are, plus except for an old pair of tennis shoes, I don't own any shoes, just a couple pair of boots, one summer, one winter.

OK so the wife decides its too hot to cook and says she wants to go to town to eat, No problem I says, just let me pull on my boots.

Nope she isn't going anywhere with me wearing shorts and boots................why.

Why is it ok for girls to wear boots with shorts and not men. My legs are old, but not that bad for being 66 years old, a little white maybe but not that bad.

It's pure discrimination.

IF you went to KFC everyone would be looking at "Pata de Poyo", legs of the chicken.... Ask me how I know the Spanish....

Everyone here(farming community) wears cargo style shorts and Rocky lace up hunting boots. Especially during irrigating season Nobody thinks anything about it

...I tell her its not worse than her wearing sandles with socks....somethings just don't jive and sandles with socks is one of them.

Note: Up here in the Pacific Northwest, where I live, this is considered the height of fashion.

I hope I haven't hijacked this fascinating thread; gentlemen, please continue.

Times sure have changed. I remember when wearing levi`s and a t-shirt was called a mexican tuxedo.
