Next time she says she wont go out if you wear boots and shorts.

Drop the shorts to your ankles, kick them off. Then walk to the car in boots and underwear.

I guarantee she will tell you to put the shorts back on :-D

Summer boots are those white rubber deck boots. We call them "Venice Louisiana dancin' shoes". (Caj will understand this).
Deep sand and riding heels don't work well. Tony Lamas play hell on teak decks on a multi million dollar sportfish boat(but that never stopped George Straight from wearin his on his own rig)
I have seen "topsider" soles on a pair of Luchesse once, but that was in Palm Beach...
Orange Beach Alabama is where I've seen the most shorts and boots (not bein worn by gals, I mean)

I just returned from vacation and while home I wore t shirt, shorts and sandals. The funny thing was that I was terrified of getting sunburnt. Wifey asks why I am wearing a t-shirt while playing in the pool. I answered, "can't get sunburnt" She thinks for a minute and says back "But your butt has been in the Afghan desert for years"!!! I reply calmy, "In the desert my head, arms and hands only see the daylight"!!

no offense but you probably do not have the additional assets that made the gal (in you post) easy on the eye.....wearin' those shorts and boots. As others have said a posting of this nature ain't worth much without pictures.....just be sure an put a BIG Warning Label on that...post. Us old folk need to save all the eyesight with can !!!

The other day I was in line behind another guy in line at the walmart pharmacy. I got looking at him. He was a real short guy wearing shorts. He was almost steping on the bottoms! I was wearing shorts too but I am over 6 ft. My problem is I have to wear suspenders with the shorts and everything else.

Gotta say, I really like cargo shorts when it is even close to hot outside...but not with boots.

Here's what I had on earlier: Cotton shorts, camo crocks with white socks, a T-shirt with the sleeves cut out that reads "ATF ALCOHOL TOBACCO FIREARMS WHO'S BRINGING THE CHIPS?" sun glasses, a "pea picker" straw hat, all accessorized with a model 686 seven shot and two dump pouches, all while riding my orange mower complete with PBR can in the cup holder. My daughter says I'm a trend setter. I don't have a wife to dress me. The neighbors leave me alone. Most importantly is I was comfortable.

I read that and thought HEY..that could be me on the Husqvarna tractor with a PBR too! Except ...no socks with the camo crocs and a either a motocross company or fishing company T. You could be a long lost brother, Charlie.

My dad never wore a pair of shorts, he didnt own a short sleeve shirt or a pair of sun glass`s. He never wore anything with writing or a logo on it. He would drill air holes on the sides of his shoes. Those old timers wouldnt throw out anything. Old suits and dress shirts ended up getting wore in the fields and barns! Yet dad looked like a excutive at church or wherever. Times have changed.

I wouldn't be caught dead wearing boots and shorts. But then the only place I wear shorts in public is the gym. I wouldn't wear a full brim hat and shorts either. A ball cap, yes, but not a hat.

And women wearing boots and shorts, or boots and short skirts look silly.

Boots should be worn with long pants. With the pants over the boot tops.

Actually, the real term for that particular style is a "buckaroo hat" or an "ash tray crease."

They are the popular style in the "buckaroo states," i.e. Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, and Northern California...but you're right...they are starting to catch on in Utah. Nevertheless, I still wouldn't wear one with shorts and boots.
