Guys,

I need your help. I recently purchased a B-Square cross hair alignment tool, just need to wait until it gets here.

Then need a good boresighter. What can you recommend? Laser or old school collimator?

In case you have one for sale, don't hesitate to shoot me an email...

I apprecite any help.

I got a blister-pack Bushnell ($35-40, if I recall) a year or so back and find it satisfactory. The removable nylon bore guides are a little fussy, or maybe I just haven't used them enough to get comfortable with them. The power switch is iffy, sometimes holding the on position and sometimes not.

I am impressed with the unit's precision. With the unit in the bore, power on, and firearm stabilized, I can rotate the unit in the bore and keep a single unmoving point on the far wall. I find NO angular error in its configuration.

I use the device to check sight alignment on guns that in my hands don't shoot to POA. If the sights point to the red dot, then I'm the problem and not the gun. Very helpful info.

My LGS:)

He does it for free for me. He still used the old school kind. I always ask him why not the new laser thingy, he says Why? This has worked for ever:)

If I messed around more with rifles (than handguns) and scopes I would get one of the laser thingys (tech term)

I've been thinking bout one of the laser thingys too, for my long guns... but then l'll have to get some accessories... A really good heavy shooting bench... a decent range finder (why not?), a proper rest... HEY!!! I need one of those laser thingys...gives me a decent excuse to get a few more toys!

Blessings,
Hog

I have an OLD Bushnell that I have had for a LOT years and while I use it most of the time it barely gets me on paper at 25 yards. I have found it realyy ain't that much more trouble just to put a target at 25 yards and just shoot it and go from there. I think I bought it through Herter's. I don't remember how much I paid for it.

I've had a Bushnell bore sighter and have the new model Leupold. While the Leupold actually works, I can get almost as close eyeballing through the bore at a 25 yard target and adjusting the crosshairs to coincide.

I reccomend the laser ones-you can't fire the rifle when they are installed.

Ouch!! Looks a lot like an M1 that Springfield Armory NHS had on display quite a few years ago (It's gone now). Private Snuffy fired a ball round with the grenade launcher mounted. Except for the barrel, there was nothing forward of the receiver. Interesting that there were four splits in the barrrel and they followed the twist of the rifling. The shooter was unhurt. Anyone else remember it?
