You were fortunate, if you got what you ordered, and in a reasonable amount of time.

Botach has a TERRIBLE reputation!

If you google them you will find MANY complaints.

I read a first hand account of a guy who was out several hundred dollars, and had to actually DRIVE there, from Las Vegas, IIRC, to get his money back.

+1 I have read a lot of horror stories about dealing with Botach.

I have had two transactions with Botach and both went very well. One involved a pair of boots shipped to me in Afghanistan and the other was for M&P magazines. Good price by the way.

*Edited because I don't trust Botach not to troll this board.*

Dan from BoTach visited the 15-22 Forum back in January. A thread was started about Botach and their service (not complimentary). Others chimed in with their negative experiences..... then Dan arrived to ask forgiveness and another chance. Dan hasn't been seen since.

Hey Dan, you out there?

Dan from Botach

Hello all,

I would like to clarify a few points. Many of the negative feedback you see on the forums such as these come from a handful of unhappy customers.

The truth is, we process hundreds of orders daily, and are well-respected within the law enforcement and military community.

We are working hard to improve and recalibrate our customer service sector--we want to ensure good customer service to go along with the best pricing.

Nice to hear from you again, Dan.

Specifically, what does recalibrate our customer service sector mean?

Much of the gripe that I have read about BoTach has been from online customers unaware at the time of order that it will be weeks or more before their order arrives. I don't see anything on your web site that indicates the availability of the products that you sell such as in stock.. backordered... nothing. Am I missing something on your web site? I have called your 'recalibrated' CS depart and was told no such system exists for the online customer to see when placing an order. Is that correct?

Here is a recent posting on this Forum dated 6/7/2010 --

When I was looking for new duty boots, I googled the Bates model that I wanted. Cheapest was an outfit called Botach.
Botach? Botach? Where have I heard that name before? I've never been too good w/ search functions and did not find this thread until, it appears, it was too late.

Anyhow, I order the boots, a Blackhawk double mag case, a super GG&G Claymore mine hitch cover (you oughta see them), and a couple 15-22 mags and some other stuff.

I ordered online on 5/30/10 and got an order number. Yesterday, I tried to call and see the order status since I never got the email confirmation that was promised. No answer. Finally, I called and left a message after several calls w/ no answer. No reply.

Today, I finally got through on their "live" help after no one answered the phone. As it turns out, the boots will be drop shipped, the mags are on back order and she "had no idea of the status" of the rest of the order. She did opine that the boots would be 2-3 weeks but she had no way of knowing. (I wonder where the guess came from and I wonder if "Carol" was really in Carjackistan, or somewhere)

Apparently, nothing is in stock. Do these people have a retail outlet or is all their stuff drop shipped from various suppliers?

Recalibrate?

ps Some might consider it bad form for a sales representative to appear dismissive of unsatisfied customers as just a handful among the many... especially on a global Forum such as this.

I have to step in and say that I have had very good service from Botach on several orders and would order from them again. I generally call my orders in and ask availability at the time of order. I then know what to expect.

I have dealt with them before with no problems...then again, I live within 10 miles so I drove there....it's like a candy store for the tactical...:)

My BS detector went off w/ Dan's go F yourself response. Like I learned many years ago w/ lawyers--if you can't attack the evidence, attack the witnesses.

If I were Dan, I'd spend some time sorting through the posts and try to win the unsatisfied people back. Instead, Dan has blown us off. I ordered six different items (the post Phil quoted is really familiar) and they had none in stock and had no idea where they were or when they might show up! That's not my idea of CS--BS, for sure, but no CS
