I have had the 9 Shield since just after they came out and before the no safety model.
The 45 just feels better to me. I like the texture and size of grip. And this one has no thumb safety.
Now to buy some food for it.

Shot mine again at the range today and zero malfunctions. Recoil when shooting WWB is soft compared with Hornaday FTX. Can't think of another single stack pistol in any caliber that I would rather carry.

I haven't checked in a while to see if they have them at Fort Knox,I can't find the 45 shield around my part of the city I live in here in KY.

Went by LGS this morning and they had received 7 and had 3 left now they only have 2 left got home gave it good cleaning. Ready for the range now.

You guys really should try loads using the Barnes TAC-XP 160 grain +P bullets. They are fast and very low recoil. I expect I can probably shoot my 45 Shield with these bullets faster than you could shoot a .40 S&W Shield. The recoil is more pleasant and with the short cycle these pistols have I expect these bullets to be more reliable feeding as they are lighter weight. The actual bullet is all copper and about the same length as a 230 grain lead jacketed hollowpoint.

Finally got around to cleaning the new Shield and loading the mags at home.
They are a bear to get loaded!! Someone suggested leaving them loaded a few days. Don't know if it will make a difference but I am gonna try.

That was probably me, Amp. I can confidently say that doing this will not hurt anything at all and will definitely likely help a lot. These things normally get better with use, and parking the mags and the gun with the slide locked back will accelerate the process without burning any ammo. For me, that's a win/win deal. I don't mind burning ammo, but for me it's much less frustrating when I don't have to deal with these kinds of problems while doing so!
