I bought a CS45 today. It looks like it was carried and not fired much. It came with box and spare mag.. My question is do 457 7rd. mags fit in it and function .. naturally.

I believe the answer is "Yes, yes they do!" :) They'll stick out, though. Why not an 8-round 4506 mag, assuming you're going for back-up use?

But . . . where are the pictures, amigo? ;) Congrats on a good gun - glad it went to a good guy.

Erich,
Just for you mate. :) Hot off the press complete with some Chihuahua hair and fingerprints. I'm going to try using this Bianchi I had on hand. I think I have some 457 or 645 mags in the inner sanctum. To delve in there I need expectation of hope though.

Thanks, Jim

Thanks! That's got to be at least as cute as the chihuahua! :)

Wow, hard to believe something that small is a forty-five!

You will enjoy it JC, good luck with it. Now I will make the standard Big Dog grip recommendation.

Yes and I second the Big Dog Grips...

I'm not gonna put a lot of money into it before I shoot it. It may be too much for my arthritic hands. If so I'll probably try to trade it for CS9. I went to the GS just "to look." They had this and a 38-2 (a revolving cyl. type device) Both guns I've been looking for a long time. If I can panhandle enough money tomorrow I can pick up the 38.

I found my 645 /8rd. mag and it fits. :)

That's a fine looking CS45, nice catch. As far as shooting it goes,
I've become more sensitive to recoil as time goes by, but am
having no problems with 45's. Possibly due to lower pressure rounds?
I noticed no difference in recoil between a full-size 1911 and the CS45,
likewise no perceptible difference with the BigDog grips.
Mine isn't as good looking as yours, but speaks with the same authority. A'int it Great?!! (Sorry, lost it there) TACC1

Erich,
Nice gun. The one I'm looking at has a factory matte finish. It has the old style hammer. When I saw it I thought it was a 438.

If you decide to keep it, I'll third the Big Dog grips. They do make a difference in how well you can control the pistol.

I'm curious, are the blued CS45s harder to find? Of course, it could just be me. I decided I wanted the blued version and it took me quite a while to find one. And, I've noticed on sale pages there might be SS available, but no blue.

As for recoil. I'm an official geezer now, and I have begun to notice some of my 3Gs suddenly have more of it that I had realized.

The bump everyone seems to complain about on the standard grips may serve to cushion recoil in my case. The bump will hit me in the hand in the very same spot my arthritis is present. We'll see.

I hate to say this but I kinda like the hogue grips on my cs45. They are a little big but are comfortable to me. I know they may hang on CC . I have a 457 that I try to compare the difference with. Don't get me wrong I would like to have a pair of big dogs to try out. Maybe go the "gator" route. They would look good on my blue one. BTW I like the blue better I have both.

I've got the same CS45. Lots of folks like the more narrow delrin grips (big dog) and you may as well. Like you plan, shoot it first. I've got both the fat Hogue and the narrow delrin... fondling it, the thin delrin feels nicer. Shooting it, I like the hogue better.
