Bought a M&P .40 S&W Pro Series - Starting to like it!!!!

Why would anyone buy a new pistol without at least dry-firing it? S&W does have QC. Every manufacturer of any item, guns, toasters, cars, etc., occasionally has a lemon sneak through. They have a warranty. Why not give them a chance to make it right? They would rather have a happy customer than someone who whines and bashes them on the forum.

I own two S&W semi-autos and two S&W revolvers. Mine function flawlessly. On the other hand, I've owned a Glock, which in my opinion sucked.

Different strokes for different folks.

Return label already here

Got my return label early today, just got back from Fedex, S&W should have it in two days.

I don't have any idea of the turn around time, I will post an update after it returns.

I did shoot it before I sent it out just to make sure there were no FTF, FTE, or any other functioning problems. I will say it is as accurate as any Glock I've shot. I did like the feel of the gun in my hand as I was shooting it, doesn't seem to have as much recoil as the Glocks.

Hopefully all will be well when it gets back home.

I'll answer that question...because some of us live in places where there is ONE gun store and they don't have a huge inventory. So pretty much EVERYTHING is special-ordered and you pay IN FULL/IN ADVANCE for those special orders. Or the gun you want is not in stock and the only way to get it is to order it. Again, you gotta pay IN ADVANCE to order it.

I own two Glocks that are flawless...a model 17 and 26. But my S&W 329 Nightguard which cost a LOT more had to go back because it had a light striking firing pin. Wouldn't even set off .44 Special loads.

M&P 40 Pro returned today

S&W replaced the slide and fixed the trigger problem. Can't wait to get it to the range and put some ammo thru it.

I will call S&W tomorrow and thank them for the work and quick turnaround time.

I think my Glocks will be leaving soon.

Sure is nice to work with a company that stands behind their product to the point of covering shipping both ways. Kudos to S&W for a fine product and the guts to stand behind it.

Will post range report soon.

Wrongway, see if S&W will put the Shield trigger in for you? they are an excellent trigger.

Range Report

Excellent! Let us know how it works at the range. Glad they were able to fix it.

Went well at the range today. Put almost 200 rds of CCI aluminum cased Blazers thru it, not one hiccup what-so-ever. The trigger pull is heavier now, I'm guessing about 6lbs, and it did not seem to shoot as well as I remember before sending it to S&W. I'm not going to gripe about the accuracy, because this pistol doesn't hurt my injured hand at all. The Glocks pound my right hand so bad, I cannot shoot as much as I like to.

Between the 40 Pro and 40c, I shot almost 350 rds, I haven't done that since before the accident.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but the 40c is very accurate. Much more so than the 40 Pro.

I had a great time shooting both of the M&P's, and already have plans to buy at least one more, a M&P 40 standard. I'll probably get a M&P 45 also.

Thanks Smith and Wesson for such a great pistol.
