bought a model 36, dating help

New forum member here, just purchased a Model 36 no dash, my first revolver ever. I am needing some help dating it if anyone would be so kind.

First some pictures of it

Serial number is J525xxx

1976-1977 J370001 - J610000

I think so, this one is like new, got it from an older guy who used it as a night stand gun, $300.

Always wanted a 36, could never find one less then $400-450, or I'd find them for $300 beat up and ugly.

actually as of 10 minutes ago, I have bigger problems


I was cleaning the new model 36, wife comes down stairs "what are you doing"
"oh nothing honey just cleaning an ol' gun"
"oh thats nice, I like that, it'll fit in my purse and its cute"


So I guess I no longer own a model 36, back on the hunt for another one.
