Bought a new project.

You may be going overboard with that new seat cover, A couple of yards of duck tape and some stuffing from an old pillow should have it right in no time and cheaper too.

Ya just gotta love an old truck that has been there and done that.

You can find a padded camo seat cover that will work great on that truck. My son had one in his. I had a 67 F250 for many years. 300 six with a floor shift with the granny gear. It a posi-track rear end and would go some places a newer 4X4 wouldn't go. I once borrowed a neighbors home made trailer to haul off an old house I tore down to make a barn. The trailer had three house trailer axles and a rough cut wood floor. I filled up the bed of the truck with lumber stacked over the cab and stacked up the 30' trailer about as high. I had to drive 40+ miles to get it all home. I had a pretty good load and if I got over 40 mph the front end of the truck would rise up off the road. I kept it around 30 mph and got home safely with one load. Might do it a little different now. I had that truck for over 20 years and sold it to a friend of mine who still drives it on his farm.

Wow its looking good already congrats on on fun project

Thank you, its turning into a lot more fun that I thought it would be and every time I fix something it puts even a bigger smile on my face.

The biggest hold up right now is the truck didn't come with a title. All my papers have been submitted, a month ago and I'm still waiting.

I love it.

4C is Cassia county. I was the lone FBI guy in Twin Falls for five years, and I covered that county. They had some no-nonsense boys in the SO there.

The owner, who we have no idea where he is kept it licensed back in Idaho where his residence was. The truck was here in Utah for years. It was last licensed in 2003.

He was here logging.

This was my 1979 F-250 Ranger XLT. This is why I picked that seat cover.

Those old 300 6-cly never died.

I actually washed it today. Heaven only knows the last time it got a bath.
Should help out a bit for when I buff it.
I sprayed it down with that purple super cleaner and then washed
it with a good carwash soap. The parking lot was a rust color. :D

The front yoke on the front driveline had a chip in it.
You could actually rotate the u-joint cap with your finger.
It goes in tomorrow to get rebuilt.

I'm waiting for new transfer case mounting bushings too. They're shot.

I think it was due for a new air filter too.

The local parts stores have very little for my truck.
I had to order the air filter from Amazon.
I have a new PCV valve, fuel filter and other items already ordered.
I'm going to order upper and lower radiator hoses too.

So the old truck is running on the fast idle warming up.
I wonder how long its been since the choke worked properly and it did that?
The old defroster doing what its supposed to do. :)
Every time I run it down the canyon I'd swear it ran better than the last time.

Got the driveline to the shop yesterday, should get it back next week.

All I want for Christmas is the title to the truck. :D

Correct color engine paint, transfer case bushings, battery hold down,
correct red + battery cable and the glove box light and switch.
I can't wait until next week when I get to start working on the old truck again.
It may never be pretty but its going to be road worthy and dependable.
