We took our weekly trip to Walmart today and I decided to see if all their handgun ammo was sold out. While they did not have much I was able to get a couple of boxes of thirty-eight 158 grain round nose @ $18/box for the range. They also had a limited selection of .380, .357 & .45 ACP. It wouldn’t hurt to check the supply if you have a Walmart close by.

Today I bought 4x 50rd boxes of Federal 9mm FMJ, 3x 100rd boxes of 9mm Rem UMC JHP, and 2x 100rd boxes of Rem UMC 38 SPL +P JHP.

Those last two will hurt the most when Walmart finally stops selling them - ~$30 for 100rds of JHP is a steal these days. The Walmart associate said the ammo I bought all came in this morning as they cleared out the warehouse.

They had a bunch of 22 LR on the shelves here - it looked like they will keep selling it. 9mm was almost picked clean but they had both FMJ and JHP in pretty much every other pistol caliber they sell.

Hopefully, it wasn't that extra deadly heat seeking super sniper short barreled rifle ammo that goes into a 30 caliber clip with the thing that goes down.... That stuff is too deadly to even look at.

The WM near my house in South Mississippi had all types of bad ammo: 9mm, 40, 45, 38, 357, 44. They even had a box of 38 Super.

I have enjoyed being able to buy ammo at a good price while I was buying groceries or having the oil changed and tires rotated. Never was so concerned about pinching the last penny in price but will not say the prices didn't make things better. Will say that I have been doing business with Walmart ever since they came to Georgia. I bought my first 15-22 from Walmart ... price was excellent. Bought S&W revolvers back in the day and Remington 700 rifles. Never understood the hatred for Walmart. Oh well. Guess there are those who will feel much better that Walmart no longer sells pistol ammo. Suppose they figure LGS's will just magically start carrying pistol ammo at less than scalper prices. I'll just resort to the reloading press. Sincerely. bruce.

We have a Super Walmart and Sams near my house and I picked up some Rem .45 acp for $16 today and many times I've picked up ammo while getting groceries and also on the way to my outdoor gun range that's about 17 minutes away. Its great being able to get ammo 24 hours a day if I forget to buy some before an early morning hunting trip and I will miss the $31/100 rounds of .38 Special +P hollow points. They recently had Remington 1187 semi auto shotguns for $249 and Remington 870s for $139 and I've got many great gun deals on closeout over the years.

Well I, for one, will never buy ammo from Walmart again. Not that I buy a whole lot of commercial ammo. Some 9mm and .22.

I'm not on a full-on Walmart boycott. But I will reduce what I buy from them. Academy is fine, they have good prices and they'll get my ammo/fishing/sporting good dollars. Walmart will get half my grocery money, it used to get 90% of it. There's other practical options.

I don't like Walmart's play-both-sides-of-the-fence strategy. Where they slowly drop a narrow selection certain products. Not going too far too fast so the sportsmen don't get riled up, yet giving the PC crowd something to show they "care". It makes me want to hurl.

But you guys do what you want. I don't hold it against you, but personally I'd like to see Walmart eat every round of "short barrel ammunition" (?) that they have in stock. So I won't buy any.

I need to get back over there.

They have the best price on .45 auto that I can find.

But the fact of the matter is I'll never use all that I already have. LOL

Got back by there today. Stock is definitely down. No clerk there, but there was an employee from another section browsing, too. He said he gets a 10% discount. I asked him if they had cut prices. "No."

My WM is next to the Sam's where I get some prescriptions. Went by today. No 30.06 or 30.07 signs at the door.
Massive quantity of .22
Fair quantity of pistol calibers (except 9mm), NO discounts or rollbacks posted.

That's misleading. I bet those shotguns are the cheaper Express Grade?
