I probably paid a little too much, but this is the gun I've been wanting for quite a while.

I gave $825 for it. And the box and tools comes with it. It is supposed to be about 99%, and the seller has a good reputation on Gunbroker.

The SN is N3480xx.

I'm glad I bought it because it is something I've been wanting, even thought I may have paid a little much. I was just wondering what the going price is for one like this.

A gun is worth what someone will pay for it. Yours is worth 825.

Welcome to the forum.

I like the 27-2's also and one of my recent buys was this one with a little longer bbl. than yours.

Congratz on a fine N frame, I bet it won't be your last!

Terrific gun purchase and one of my favorite guns. The price you paid is a fair price and you got the presentation case and tool kit. I think the 27-2 is the top of S&W's revolver game and I have 7 of them.

Nickel 27-2 5 inch bought at a gun show last month

J D,

Nice catch! Hard to beat a clean Model 27 with all the goodies. Welcome to the Forum, also!

Welcome to the forum

A wise old guntrader always told me "Inflation will eventually take care of all bad gun trades"

You didnt get hurt for a keeper...but I dont think you'll make any on it if you try to turn it

Whether you fire it (I sure would if it were mine!) or just keep it as a collectors item/investment you're going to find it well worth what you paid for it. Think of it this way: the new "Classic" 27, complete with MIM parts and a lock, is retailing for about $1000. What you got is far more classic than the "Classic" and at a substantially lower price, to boot. Congratulations!!

That's definitely a nice gun. I want to pick myself up one for a shooter. The only one I have is the 50th anniversary model and it's a safe queen.

Very nice set. Seems to be the going rate for a complete set, actually maybe a bit less. Price is relative, if your happy then it was a good deal.

So, you gonna shoot it?? I would!! LOL But I shoot em all!

I had been lusting for a 27-2 for a long time. I saw this one with 20 minutes left in the GB auction, reserve not yet met. It was as new in box, never fired, all wrappings, paperwork, tools etc ... high bid was $785. I bid $800 and cringed when I won the auction. That's the most I've ever paid for a handgun but as previously pointed out, still $200 less than a Classic reproduction they are building today. I love this gun and am still torn between shoot or not to shoot

Congratulations on a great purchase. I have five of the 27-2's: 5" Nickel and 5" Blue both in the wooden presentation case with tools; a 4" Blue in the wooden presentation case with tools, and two 3 1/2" Nickel revolvers, one with RR, WO, TH, TT, and Target Grips and the other with magna grips and TT and TH. They are great guns and if you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine you won't question the price. If you MUST ASK A QUESTION, ask yourself this: "What does S&W currently manufacture that is equal in quality to the gun I have just purchased?" Enjoy it and forget about the price!

All of my 27s are 27-2s. Great guns.

Here's a group shot - only one missing from my pack is a 6" nickel job. Stone axe is Hohokom, a backup to my backup device.
