I love the way my Glock 23 speaks to me as I stare at it with glossy eyes when it's laying on the coffee table. As my fingertips slowly caress the dull black polymer lower and liquid ferritic nitrocarburized coated upper I feel chills of excitement. The polymer and I are one, the way the textured grip and the finger groves fits my hand like a well worn leather glove. The trigger, yes that safe action trigger, with it's 5 and half pound pull that I have grown to count on being consistent with every tug of my trigger finger. I know I can count on my Glock to be there for me when I need it, just like I'm there for it as I slowly rub a light synthetic lubricant over every nook and granny. Some, who have no love for Glock's, have called it ugly, but they have not come to appreciate it's boxy, but shapely form, the way I have. It's spirit speaks to me again saying "trust me, and I will never let you down!"
Now I want a 23! I have a 22 that I really like along with two HKs in 40 but I can't seem to get accustomed to the triggers. Maybe I should trade one for a G23

I'm not really a Glock fan, but I`ll admit to owning a few Glocks over the years. It`s all about function with a Glock and yes, they do function well. Good luck with your new 36!

Ditto to save some typing..... I owned 3 in the 90s a 19 and two 26s....I didn't find them superior to my existing stash of Smith 3913s and 6906s, magazines and holsters ....

I found the grips on the 26s less comfortable than the 6906 so I stuck with 12+1 vs 10+1.....and the Glocks came and went.

If I was starting from scratch today..... they would be on my short list along with some Beretta, Sig and CZ offerings....... in all likelihood a Glock 19 would fill the slot currently occupied by my "used but not abused" S&W 915.

I've owned a couple of Glocks. A 19 and a 26. Sold them because they didn't do anything better than other guns that had features I like. I don't like finger grooves on guns forcing me to hold a weapon the way the gun wants me to. I like a safety on a semi auto and a mag disconnect is a big plus. I used to get those features in third gen pistols but polymer is lighter, so my home gun is now a Ruger SR9 and my carry gun is an LC9-S. I did just get a Bodyguard .380 for summer pocket carry.

So what does the Glock do that other polymer striker fired guns don't? It reliably launches a bullet, like my Rugers. Aftermarket support? I'm not gonna spend more on "upgrades" than I did on the gun.

This is why one should not buy a holster...before buying the gun!

I got the holster intended for the G30 yesterday and my 36 fit it perfectly. The only conceivable difference I could see between this and what I should have ordered is a mock line molded into the leather where the 30 has a rail and the 36 does not.
