Ok, so I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and finding 40 yr old plus guns in original box is sometimes, in fact a lot of times difficult to find, but finding the correct box is fairly easy to do on eBay. So. Since I buy say a 15-3. Then find a 15-3 box later, what is correct protocol IF I ever do sell any guns/boxes together. Also is it taboo to put replacement labels on said box with my firearms information on it? Just asking, like I said I'm kinda anal and want correct boxes with my guns, but finding them together is not always the case. Thanks

box........

there is nothing wrong with putting YOUR gun into any box that YOU may choose, if its to be one of the proper vintage ( era) then go for it...best thing to do is simply remove the end label, a bit of lighter fluid or Goo gone and the job is done......better to have a 'proper' box with NO label, than the wrong one....it is when some folks will try and alter, add to, or make a bit of "historical revisionism" ( my quote), to perpetrate a fraud, pass it off as "original", make MORE money on it (scam) then that is wrong.............

Ok, but if it is correct era box for a particular gun, is replacing the old label with a new one and putting my guns info on it ok, or is it bad? Not buying repro boxes btw, I do use correct vintage boxes for them. Mainly the two piece blue boxes. Plastics don't count. Lol
