That automatic 25mm cannon in the Bradley is an awesome weapon. The T-90 didn't have much of a chance.

There is also something to be said about the tank operators themselves. Training ad tactics has so much to do with which one comes out on top.
Although the Sherman Tank during WWll was so inferior to the German Panzer and Tiger Tanks, there were some vulnerable areas of the German tanks and the USGI's were taught where to hit them at the point of their weakest armament (in the rear of the tanks). In general, the Sherman was the loser, however with a crack Tank Crew, they had at least somewhat of a chance.

It wouldn't be surprising that the Russian T-90 crew members were poorly trained and possibly illiterate conscripts whose first instinct was to flee the scene rather than fight. But it is surprising that the 25mm chain gun was so effective. What is the typical projectile type used with it in a Bradley? Maybe DU? Regarding the Sherman vs. German tanks during WWII, I think the numerical superiority of the Sherman was pivotal in achieving German defeat. Also better American aerial and artillery support of tank operations.

I don't think that it necessarily did. Looking at the video I think the big bang in the first video is the reactive armor cooking off. I don't know if the gunner was trying to achieve that, but my plan on using a 25mm cannon against a MBT would be either get behind him and hope to damage the motor or fuel tank, or aim at the tracks and go for a mobility kill. Looks like they got that in the end when the tank ran out of control into the tree.
The only reason I can think of to shoot at the turret is if you think you can render the tank's vision blocks and gunsights inoperative.One thing is for sure, that tank crew were useless. I would expect any crew with the remotest clue to have returned fire at least once. Even a miss might have persuaded the Bradleys to declare vamanos. Mind you, given the apparent short range of the engagement and if the Bradleys had the element of surprise, it could be that the fire control system had been damaged in the first few moments.
Whatever the details, score one for the good guys.
This is a very dramatic illustration of the value of US assistance in helping Ukraine defend itself against Putin's invaders.
It looks like the Bradley is firing depleted Uranium rounds because of the large amount of sparks when the rounds strike the tank. (The DU rounds are extremely pyrophoric when they strike metal.) Enough DU rounds in the same area just might have caused an armor failure.

I have a friend that is retired infantry. He referred to Bradley's as "bullet magnets". I'm pretty sure they had not began using reactive armor during his time in which was probably 20+ years ago.
The reason you see exactly none of the much-hyped Russian T-14 Armata tanks in Ukraine is the Russians won't be able to sell any after they prove no better than T-90Ms. Exactly like the sub-par Su57 Felon that was supposed to compete with the F-22 and F-35. All 40 of them.

That's why a couple of my government customers have a certain line in their facility, that non-essentials are ABSOLUTELY not allowed beyond.
They have marked white line, with armed guards protecting that line.
To get beyond the line, you have to have proper credentials, and will be coming through a different gate to the other side of the plant.
You cross the line in the back of the plant, you die, the end.
We once thought that was pretty wild.
In hindsight, if you can research you enemy's armored vehicles, you can figure out how to defeat them.

I don't think lone unsupported armor is the smartest tactical move..... remember "Fury"? I know it's just a movie.
Cooking off the reactive armor, which looks like it would have effectively "blinded" the crew, followed by a TOW should get their attention.

No. The Ukrainians never owned any T-90Ms and captured the first example from Russia in September 2022; they now have captured 27 of all T-90 variants (as of January 14, 2024). Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The Russian Invasion Of Ukraine - Oryx

I am somewhat surprised that, what with TOWs, smart bombs, and anti-tank drones, tanks still remain viable weapons systems for use against equally well armed opponents.

I saw an explanation of what happened by a retired military/youtuber (Ryan McBeth). It seems to have been a mobility kill. I'll have to take his word for it as I don't know enough to question his insights.

They are very viable when they are used as part of a combined arms assault. If they just drive around aimlessly by themselves, as it appears like the Russians like to do, they are pretty much useless. I watched that clip and it makes me wonder why there was no return fire from the Russian tank. One of it's 125mm rounds hitting that Bradley would have put and end to it.
It's basically the same vehicle! The turret ring size, gap between turret and hull and location is exactly in the same place as that of the T-90M…

And Ukraine had no T-90s of any series until they captured the first in September '22.
