Retired this year and spending more time at the gun club. So young college guy that shoots at the club told me he made a big mistake reloading and wanted to sell his problem as components. I must have had a senior moment to buy those 800+ rnds of 45 acp because pulling them is going to take a while.

I have pulled about 200 and you are right, it's just busy work. Interesting how some had no powder and some had very little. Three different powders too. Going to put all the powder in the garden.

So do any of you guys shoot a 45 acp revolver? I bought a mountain gun years ago and finally get a chance to shoot it some. Thus I bought all them dog gone components. Lol

Nope, no .45ACP revolvers yet. As long as my 1911s keep working, I see no reason for one.

My only 45 ACP revolvers are a Colt and a S&W Model 1917. I have a Mountain Gun but it's a 45 Colt.

I have been trying to come up with a load that shoots straight in my 1911 and my revolver. This powder shortage has made it difficult but I am getting close.

Might depend on how much (if any) and what type of crimp was applied. But I agree if using a kinetic puller that the weight of the projectile should be an advantage. If using a collet puller then I would think mainly time consuming.
I had to pull about thirty 45 ACPs when I discovered that I hadn't fully tightened the powder hopper after changing disks - and when I did a spot check of the weight every 10th round I was getting inconsistent results - thought it was an issue with the small digital scale. Most of them where well under and might have resulted in a squib.

Yes, 625-8 or better known as a JM special. Accuracy abounds when I shoot it SA. DA not so much. If I had some trigger work done to make it a little smoother and a little lighter we could become real good friends.

Speaking of such, I had my first squib today. After reloading thousands of rounds I finally had one, no big problem, just took a brass rod and tapped it on out but it does get your undivided attention when it happens.

I really like my mountain gun, it's about what I always wanted from Smith. It shoots straighter than I do and it packs real easy for an N frame. Don't see many of them around.

Been shooting 200 grain LSWC with 5.6 grains 231. Shoots really straight.
