Bring on a classic: 38-44

That would be sweet. As a fallback position, maybe the company could offer auxiliary cylinders in .38 Special for both blue and stainless N-frames in .357 Magnum. I could see them selling more cylinders by far than complete revolvers. Maybe they could introduce a specially marked barrel for these double-threat models: .38-44/.357 MAGNUM CTGS, then distinguish the cylinders with rear surface stamps.

Thinking out loud after midnight. Maybe this is not as good as I think it could be.

It would be cool, but I don't see the S&W execs going for it........they don't always think from a S&W revolver enthusiasts viewpoint, but more from a business standpoint and an N-Frame .38 Special probably wouldn't make the cut.

I think a "Classic" Model 520 would sell a lot better.

I'd love to see the .38/44 Classic, but agree a 520 Classic would be more marketable. They could even call it a fixed-sight .357 "Mountain Gun" for all I care; I'd buy it.
