Find a local FFL that operates from his home. No transfer should cost $50 for a firearm you already own. Guy I have used for 15 years costs $10 and lives about 5 min from me.

unfortunately i dont know a guy like that locally.
would there be a link of a list of ffl guys in a zip code area?

the list i found only had 2 places in a 20 mile radius

better yet, i emailed S&W for my broken lower back with a refund!

If you ask in a nice manner ... you would be surprised what people will do for you .
Don't be ugly , don't be mean , don't accuse anyone of making junk ...

oh, i was nice they just told me one thing and did another.
anyhow ,done with this as i picked up at ffl $35.00 was their fee. submitted it to S&W as one of their reps said and i actually got a $35.00 check in the mail
back to shooting and hoping this composite holds up better.

Thanks for the update.

Did you ever answer our question as to what you were doing when it broke?

i pulled it out of my bag. we started shooting it and the stock felt weird. I have no idea how it broke?

Send it in. The worst they will do is charge you for a new lower.
They may be able to do some paperwork about the serial number so you don't have to do a new 4473

If they won't fix it, you could 3D print the lower. I believe there is a free file on the internet!

Yes there is and mine turned out great. The stock part is different but better for many options like foldable stocks or whatever you want to put on it

If they won't fix it, take to a gun shop and compare with a ar-15 lower for a parts swap. then by a S&W MP lower and which parts. Cheaper than paying Smiths price.
