Broken Rebound Slide, 22/32 HFT

Now I've done it. While reassembling my 100 year old revolver the top fork on the rear of the slide snapped off. I finished the assembly and it seems to function fine, for now. Has anyone had that happen (I haven't) and will that part continue to to do it's part? I guess it's better than breaking the bottom portion.

I'm not sure whether the rebound slide has anywhere to go, even with the upper "fork" missing, but there might be some potential for the rebound spring to kink and bind(??) I've got a spare from a 32 RP in a parts kit that should work fine. Drop me a PM if you'd like me to send it (gratis). My Karma needs a little rebuild anyway!
