Broken trigger hammer on new m&p, what to do?

CMC, for about $150 you can have a middle tier trigger that you can swap out with a 'real' AR if you want. i like the straight trigger but they make the curved one also. you don't have to worry about extra KNS anti walk pins as the CMC has the same 'C' clips that replace your pins. total drop in, put in pins, put on C clips done in 10 minutes and you have a nice, crisp 3.5 pound trigger.
i put them in ALL my AR's to include my 3 guns i like them so much.

You lost me here. If he upgrades on his own, the gun doesn't go back to S&W so they never know of the failure.

If he sends it back to S&W for warranty repair - on their dime - why do the upgrade????

I vote send it back.

It's a .22 not a Home Defense gun and the added cost of adding an after market trigger is like putting lipstick on a pig - it's still a pig, just a 'pretty looking' pig :)
Then you have obviously not experienced a decent trigger on an AR either. Standard AR triggers are **** also, because they are the same triggers. Every AR gets better with a decent trigger, bare none. Military ARs have 6# triggers because the people at the top have a very low opinion of the skill level of the soldiers who serve in the trenches so to speak.
Putting a decent trigger in your AR or 15-22 is more like putting a turbo in your car. It might be a *** Yugo but it will still be faster than before regardless.

Remember the term "lowest bidder" hence the crappy triggers on the Colts.

You don't have to send your rifle back if you can replace the hammer yourself. Call S&W and they will send you a replacement hammer.

Another option is to replace the pins with some that can't walk, like the KNS pins. You can still use your broken hammer with these pins.
