Many years ago after a lot of deliberation I decided that IF I had to own only one S&W revolver my "IT" revolver would be a model 58 with a Armaloy finish. That thought never left but I owned many more than a single Smith including one of the first year S serial # Model 58's and a couple of 57's and a 657 Mountain gun but never the IT gun. Well low and behold yesterday I ran across a fellow who had 1973 vintage Model 58 with Armaloy finish and nite sight inserts professionally installed in the frame and front sight. who was looking to sell or trade it. He decided that my 681-3 CRPD would be a good trade so today we met up and I came home with my IT gun after 30+ years. The nite sights are OLD and dim to the point of being just dots but that to me is a who cares. To the range tomorrow to welcome it to the family. I'll add pics tomorrow.

As Promised even before everybody started with the "where's the Pics"
First 3 pictures are of my IT gun and its new ride. An H.C. Leathers Threepersons holster.
The next was taken at the range after I had fired my first 24 shots. Range 15 yards offhand
The 12 center-mass shots are with an IDPA load using a 215 Cast SWC over 6.5 grains of Trailboss @ 800fps
The next 12 head shots were using my old plinking load of 6.5 grains 231 behind a 215 Cast SWC @ 920fps. This is very close to the old LE load that Remington sold.
