I took off the rubbers and put on the only other N frame grips I have on hand. Cleaned it some, but will do a better job after I buy some mother's mag polish tomorrow. Serial # N733656.

All in all, I'm tickled pink with the condition and the out the door price of $820. Since the seller was local, I went to the shop, paid cash and took it home. It's been shot some but taken care of nicely.

For $820, I think you did great! It looks so much better with wooden stocks and it will look even better after a gentle polishing.

Excellent! I figure I need an 8 3/8 for my 27 collection!! Nickel or blue.
I have not shot 38 special with an 8 inch barrel yet. Let alone 357. It will be interesting to see how my accuracy will do with it.

Beautiful job on the nickel! I picked up a nickle model 38 (airweight .38 snub) in worse condition than yours and it polished up just as nice! People may not realize, an ugly nickel gun can be brought back to life with Flitz (or Mother's, although I have only used that on my Weld aluminum rims on my 4x4s). So, if you find a nickel gun that is faded but no scratches, buy it on the cheap and Flitz it up!
