I'm not an NFL fan any longer, but when I was, I was a die hard Dolphin fan. I was a kid living in Miami during their heyday and the absolute hysteria surrounding their 17-0 season and back to back Super Bowl wins had all of Florida in an uproar that I remember to this day.
Now that the Bucs have made it all the way to the show, I'm just not seeing much enthusiasm at all. I live about 90 miles south of Tampa, but work there during the week and I've seen very little team spirit at all. Now don't get me wrong, I hate the Bucs with a passion that would rival a Packers fans hatred of the Vikings. I just think it's a little sad for them to be playing the first true home field advantage Super Bowl in history and everyone is just so Ho-Hum about it.
I don't think I'll ever be as supportive of NFL football as I once was unless a lot changes in the sport and maybe a lot more people feel that way also. That could possibly explain (my perceived) the lack of enthusiasm.

And with that said...Go Chiefs!:D

lack of enthusiasm.

No offense to the OP what-so-ever, but my lack of enthusiasm is due to the lack of respect pro-sports (not just the NFL) has shown for our country and the fact that they have thrown the LEOs under the bus.

I could care less who plays in or who wins the **** bowl.

Growing up here 120 miles north of Tampa I grew up a Dolphin fan as well. They were the only NFL team in Florida. Also a Braves fan as there were no FLorida MLB teams at all.

No offense taken. Like I stated in my post, I'm no fan either.

Op , do you remember Larry Czonka ? He's part owner , maybe full owner of an Old south seafood restaurant near oak Hill . Some of us cape canaveral retirees went there for lunch a while back . One of the retirees owns a trailer park near there and knows Larry . he asked him to come over and meet us and he did . The years have been good to him , you can easily pick him out . Just a down to earth guy , loved telling stories of when he was a kid .

Back when I traveled all the time, I sat by him on a flight. He was going to the Dakota's pheasant hunting. He is a huge outdoorsman. One of the nicest people I have ever met.

Also met Alice Cooper in an airport once. I went up to him and said "Mr. Cooper, do you mind if I say hello? "He said you already are!!" With a huge laugh. Also a genuinely nice man. Nothing like I expected.

Met Elvis Costello—love his music—complete weirdo.

Sat next to and around the band Survivor once too (Eye of The Tiger). They were absolute hoots and super nice guys. I even sang a few lines of Eye of The Tiger. (They told me to keep my day job).

I was a Dolphin fan back when and used to love to watch Csonka run carrying half of the other team, they made good many back then , but not the outrageous amounts they get now. A NBA player bought a local landmark mansion with beautiful grounds (that we enjoyed aspiring to own) home for one of the mothers pf his children after promising improvement illegally tore it own and threw up a modern architectural disaster that was condemned before completion. It is now a abandoned neglected ruin. Thanks. NBA!

Viewership for all pro sports is down significantly and so be it. Even the hockey championship was off 60%. We all know why. That said, I admit to watching pro football playoffs and will watch the Super Bowl. Do have mixed loyalties though. Chiefs are sort of home town favorites, but I am cheering for the Bucs and would love to see Brady win one more Super Bowl, poke fun at the Pats, and retire on top (like Manning did with Denver).

Czonka was truly inspiring to watch in action. Do you remember when he knocked out one of Buffalos safeties and got called for unnecessary roughness? I remember those back to back seasons like they were yesterday.
