I just got an email from Scott at Ammo to Go.
1,000 rds 9mm Blazer Brass 124gr. FMJ ammo for 21 cents/round sounds like a heckuva good deal to me.
No connection to this vendor, just many years of great service and fair prices from Scott.

I'm an avid reloader. But not 9mm except for unusual applications.

Just the current price of a Winchester primer and a Berry's 9mm bullet is about the same price as a live loaded round.

And NO! I'm not interested in casting my own bullets!

9mm practice ammo is one example of a caliber there is no advantage in reloading - at least as far as cost is concerned. UNLESS of course you have a lifetime supply of primers, powder and projectiles and have the time and willingness to invest.

Currently, 9mm range ammo has come down and is what I'd now call "cheap".

I used to load a lot of 9mm ammo. Rarely load it any more, prices have come down to where it's more economical to just buy factory (though I do still pick up and save the brass). AIM Surplus has several 9mm loads on sale right now, some under $10 a box. I usually drive there since they are fairly close but have gotten orders shipped and their S&H were reasonable and got here quickly.

I just checked my order history from Target Sports. Prior to 2018 I was paying $169/K 9mm ball, about $8.50/box. I just got Federal ball for $217/k, $11/box. Most range days are 40 rds 5.56, 100 rds 9mm and 100-250 rds .22lr. $60 total (with $13 range admit) twice a month. Greens fees right up the road are $60 per round of golf so shooting is a great bargain. Joe
