Current 3rd Gens in the stable

For me, S&W Gen3s are pistol heaven. I have 20, and my wife says I need a twelve step group.

I found the single stack models fit my hand better than the double stacks. I carried Smith revolvers on-the-job for more than 33 years, so it is no wonder my favorites are the DAO models 3953 and 4053. I have some safe queens.

I have two. A police trade in 6906 with lots of carry wear, and a 3913 that seems totally clean. Changed the springs in both, and shoot them regularly. The 6906 trigger is a bit sloppy, lots of creep, probably needs a full overhaul. The 6906 is strictly a steel plinker. The 3913 gets carried occasionally when the weather is cold, and I'm wearing enough to cover the holster.

Reminds me that it's probablyl time to change the recoil spring on my pre rail 3913TSW. I don't shoot it a whole bunch, but it's pretty much irreplaceable if something happens to the frame.

Hello all, here's the current 3rd Gens in the stable. 3913, 6906 both of which I acquired used early 2000s IIRC. And the 39-2 Connecticut State Police 75th Anniversary which was purchased new by my father in law who was a 30 year man of the department and was left to us when he passed in the 90s. I also have the presentation box for it where it usually is tucked away in. Once my SWCA membership clears, I'll apply for a letter for this one.
Thanks for looking, Fred

If I could find a decent priced 6926, I'd likely buy it just because.

The ones on Gun Broker a few months ago were over priced in my opinion.

The other thing I have to do is find a FFL that will do inbound transfers at a less than outrageous price.
Picked up my 6926 for less than $500. Transfers through in home FFL's are always cheaper than the box store guys.

20?? Seems like a good start..... :)
I feel much better about myself after reading this thread I was starting to get concerned:)

I have 10 39's in various configurations. they all shoot really well and fit my hand perfectly wonderful pistol IMHO

I Also have several 2nd gens, and few 3rd gens. I don't shoot the larger capacity guns, with the bigger grip, (12 & 15 shot mags) as well as the single stack models .... but still love them

I had to think about it, and I'm left wanting. I need more 3rd gens, well guns in general really.

But I'm more of a revolver guy.
