Bud's 442 and 642

The 442/642 is a fine little gun. Don't delay your purchase.

I didn't either. I should have been clearer, as I ordered my spare 442 from Bud's on Monday.

I figured a spare to the best concealed carry gun in the world was justifiable.

:)

I'd keep an eye on your CC statement if you purchased from Bud's. Several folks on other forums that have made recent purchases from them have reported fraudulent charges on their card shortly after doing so.

Apparently they are having issues with someone hacking their billing system.

I purchased a 642 no lock from Jet Guns on the 19th for $341 delivered with insurance. It would have been $337 without insurance, and they don't charge more for credit card orders. My FFL here in California received the gun 4 days later on the 23rd.

I ordered a 642 three days ago and it hasn't been shipped yet. They said I would receive a tracking number when shipped, but none yet.

I picked up a new 442 without the lock a few weeks ago from my local shop for $369. Last week I had the Apex Tactical kit installed and it made a huge difference in the trigger pull.

Confused?

If the 442 is aluminum alloy and the 642 is stainless steel, how can both be 15 oz ? Wouldn't the stainless be heavier?

Both are aluminum, the differences being carbon steel vs. stainless steel cylinder, and coating.

thank you

I need another gun like a hole in the head so of course I'm going to get one.

Last January I bought (4) no lock 642's and (2) no lock 442's from Buds. The site would not accept my usual rewards credit card so I dug another card out of the safe which had not been used in two years. I then put the card back in the safe. Today I got a bill for that credit card showing a charge of $14.95 for " web hosting" out of Florida. I understand from other internet posts that a lot of Bud's credit card customers have had extra charges on their bills. Buds is a good outfit but I would not suggest using a credit card with them.
