Ahhh, well it doesn't matter to me, I'm not planning on getting a Shield. I'll stick to my 40c for carry.
I ordered one last week from Buds...the next day I received a phone call saying that the website was messed up and they didn't actually have them in stock. I asked if they could just mark me down and allocate to me the next one that came in. The guy said they rarely get Shields in, so he couldn't do it. I was pretty disappointed. Hopefully they don't pull the same thing with some of you guys.

I hope not 07STI. I got an Email confirmation that my order went to shipping. I may be crazy, but I am willing to spend the extra coin to get the Shield now instead of waiting for who knows how long.

Smart man, lol. Having something is always better than having nothing (since theres a waiting list on a Shield).
I personally like both my Shields. But here lately ive been getting use to carrying the 1911 around (again). Something tells me my Shields may both come up for sale in the very near future.

That good. My order never made it to shipping. It said pending until I got the phone call and they said they'd be canceling it. I might have to call back though. Sounds like they are getting Shields more often than every few months, which is what I was told. Good to hear you should be getting yours shortly!
I don't see how paying MSRP for a gun that they can't keep on the shelves is crazy. Now if it was MSRP +100 or more I'd say they really wanted one.

If you want a shield like I did paying MSRP is way better than waiting for some cheaper price on a gun that is hard to find anyway.

07STI- I put a shortcut on my desktop to the shield page at Buds. I kept checking it whenever I walked by my computer. Today was the day!
I have resigned myself to waiting until the LE ones are available for $335 again...
In the meantime we just had a 3953 for sale in the classified section for $365 shipped. To me, that is a heck of a lot better deal than a Shield at $449.

Decided not to get a shield, not because i cant get one, just not practical for ME to spend that much on a single stack gun also when i have a Sigma and Glock 19 that conceal just fine with double the ammo cap.

LoL, i love it when people use "high capacity mags" as an excuse not to own a Shield.
I'm prett sure statics show that in 99% of personal defense cases, 3 bullets or less are used. So in reality, there is no need for a high capacity mag as an EDC. And IF high capacity is the problem, i surely hope u carry the 33rd mag in ur Glock19.
