I've been considering buying a handgun from Buds Gun Shop. I'm looking for comments regarding experiences(+ or -) others have had. If this type of post is "off limits", someone please tell me. :)

I'm two for two with perfect service. The shipping was a day or two behind what was promised, but that was during the panic. I had a guy on the phone for 45 minutes to get one of their first 1911sc's.

I agree with the positive comments above. I have bought three or four hand guns from Bud's, a couple through the police discount program and one or two outright from their general inventory. No problems what-so-ever. As soon as I build up my gun fund again I will be ordering a couple more.

Only 1 purchase from Bud's but will buy from again. I see you live in Mo so the shipping may be quicker than 2 day. I live outside of Memphis and I ordered Monday afternoon and picked it up at my LGS Wednesday at noon.

I've ordered from them a couple of times. +'s are they generally have good prices. Negatives are they charge credit card fees of 3% and their shipping times are pretty slow. I've since found a better site. Better prices (at least for what I was looking for) no credit card fees and faster shipping.

Probably bought a dozen or more handguns from Buds in the last few years- I like the 90 day layaway - I always look there first for hard to get stuff - highly recommend them - never a problem.

Hey Mydog.... you going to share that site with us?
gunbuyer.com It seems that they are the Internet sales dept of Florida Gun Exchange. I just bought a M&P 15 sport from them $100 cheaper than Buds. Plus No credit card fees & free shipping. I ordered it last Saturday and it was on the UPS truck to my FFL on Friday. Unfortunately he was not home at the time so I will not get it until Monday.
When I ordered it last Saturday I spoke with a women directly. Nice to know that I could speak with a real person and on a Saturday. Last I checked, they are now out of stock on the Sport but it's worth checking the site out. I've purchased both a Pro Core and a Springfield 1911 RO from Buds. Both times the order took over 5 days just to process before it was even shipped plus I was charged a 3% credit card fee. Not trying to trash Buds. Just saying that it doesn't hurt to check around. I actually got the lead from the M&P 15 section of this forum. Just gotta love it here. :)

There was a time a couple years back when one or two of the local FFLs (at gun shops) complained because the were a pita to get paperwork, etc from. 1 actually doubled his normal FFL fee when transferring from Bud's. My thought is that they would bad mouth Bud's because they couldn't compete with them on gun prices. I might suggest you ask your FFL his take on dealing with them prior to ordering.

I've never bought a gun from Bud's, but I have bought a few supplies from them and had a very good experience. I had a return and there was no issues (I paid to send it back is all).

Bud's is a great source, easy to deal with, thorough and very professional. I've purchased several firearms and ammunition from them. Everything done as they said it would be and I was kept informed start to finish.
