Apparently Hickok45 no longer gets his guns from Bud's - now uses Gallery of Guns

I have watched him for quite a while and yes he can trash a handgun...He is honest in his opinion and if you watch him enough you understand the language he uses when he likes or dislikes certain elements of a weapon...(feel, trigger, aim point, etc..etc..)

I concur. I know of one specific carbine that he had trouble with. His negative review talked me out of purchasing one.

I find his videos to be my "comfort food" for viewing if I'm a little down from watching the news. He's an honest and sincere reviewer that you can take stock in.

Maybe Gallery offered him a better deal than he had with Bud's. His videos are how he earns his living so I understand that he has to do what best works for him. I like his videos and trust his judgement on guns more than I do most of the popular gun based channels on YouTube or other social media.

I few years back Hickok45, in one of his videos, said that the only brand of gun that he would trust with his life, brand new and right out of the box was Glock. That statement of extreme reliability made me consider buying a Glock, something that had not been my plan. I have since bought a few Glocks, use them as my primary home defense guns, and have never had a single issue with any Glock regardless of ammo fired.

It makes no difference to me where he gets the guns that he wants to feature on his videos.

Your right. Those videos are how he earns a living. So how much did Glock pay him to say that? Makes you wonder. If I remember correctly he's a retired school teacher.

I have not personally dealt with Bud's GS and therefore have no opinion about them, good or bad. I was just curious since his relationship with Bud's was a very long one. I used to watch Hickok45 much more than I currently do as he is running out of new material and now he is basically just doing his channel for the bucks. Nothing wrong with that as it is now very profitable for him, but I am mostly bored with his channel now. Once in a while I will tune in to see if he's done anything new that might interest me.

I Have shot on property probably smaller than his.
Neighbors Houses were not that that close. And we didn't shoot toward them.
We shot from the middle of our land toward vacant land.
Vacant for a long ways!
Like the Dude in Music Man said -
You got to know the territory!

I think it is a lot tougher to earn a living on U-Tube these days if your content involves the shooting sports. Videos are constantly being de-monetized, or just disappear. I know twice I have had his channel disappear from my favorites list on the tube. I remember a video from Hichcock45 recently that discussed U-Tube not allowing him to name his sponsors, and the pressure they were putting on his content.

I have watched and enjoyed his videos in the past. I am jealous of his range and his shooting ability. Most, if not all, of his videos that I watched were when he was shooting vintage stuff, like most of us here enjoy, that he actually already owned or a viewer had sent him to review.

He lives about 25 mins from me although I have not met him.
I'd love to watch him shoot a few of mine.
Hitting those targets 44 mag double action one hand is way beyond anything I am close to.
I need a few basics lessons.
I'm working on things at 20 feet with, single action two hand 38 special.
Training wheels are still on…

I kinda like the idea of the Gallery of Guns. If you aren't familiar, it is the dealer network for Davidson's Inc.
I liked Davidson's when I had my store...I never got any great deals from them, but they had their share of exclusive merchandise...And my rep always called me first on allocated items because he knew I was a consistent buyer...It's good to know they're still around......Ben

Watching Hickock45 is like hanging out with your cool old uncle. Kind of fun if there's nothing better to do. But you're not going to learn anything.

A 24 inch gong at 70 or 80 yards isn't hard.

I never understood how he got as popular as he did.

"YouTube influencers" are going to go where the money is the best... that is business... the issue is people watch their commercials and think they are actually reviewing a product.. they are not.. it's just a commercial.
