BUGGING IN

We will be bugging in also. We were planning to retire away from the big city, but due to health issues, that became almost impossible. We will be here until they carry us out feet first.

He's probably Airborne Infantry. With all the "stuff" they need to jump with I'm sure they lose a few inches with every jump! :o

My son went Airborne right out of High School (1998). 6'2" going in; 6'0" coming out 3.5 years latter! My B-I-L went Airborne about 6 months after High school (1978). 6'1" going in; 6'3" coming out! Over achiever!

When I was about 23-30, I did some backpacking in the winter. My pack was around 60 pounds. Up and down hills, through snow drifts, and trying to warm up in a nylon tent at -20F. I decided to have less wintertime fun! ITB

I don't plan to go anywhere. Wife is wheelchair bound which limits options. No risk of flood, hurricane or fire evacuation. Nearest town that has a risk factor is 20 miles away. My biggest risk is a tornado or nuclear attack (military base 10-15 miles away). Since I have a safe room trying to outrun/out maneuver a tornado is foolish. I live in a 13 house subdivision in the country and over half the residents are armed, some very well armed.

While "Bugging In", Unlike the movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, I will not be as willing to remove my chemical agent mask like Richard Dreyfuss. Something tells me the vapors maybe be lethal to all.
Avoid being/becoming one less useless-eater, is never easy.;)
