Ladies and Gents,

As you may have determined, my favorite S&W is the 3" Model 65-5 round butt .357 Mag. As many others on this forum have stated, the 3" barrel length seems to be a fantastic compromise of accuracy, handling/natural pointing, and concealability.

To that end, is the S&W Factory or any other reputable supplier producing 3" Bull barrels (like on the M-13's & M-65's, BUT WITH FULL EJECTOR SHROUD???

Seems to reason that the full ejector shroud would make the whole revolver more rigid and thus more accurate.

If anyone has any info on a supplier capable of providing this barrel combination, I would be bery interested in seeing a complete conversion and rough guestimates on pricing.

Thank you all in advance for your assistance.

Ladysmith Model 65-5have a "bull" barrel with the full shroud or not?

WhistlerSWE,

The answer is an absolute MAYBE! I honestly don't know if the Ladysmith Model 65's had a bull barrel. The 65-5 that I have (see picture) is the Military and Police version of the Model 13 M&P but in a stainless version. The Model 65 that is shown on that website link (incorrectly as a Model 64 which is the same thing with adj. sights) is the stainless K-frame WITHOUT the shroud on the barrel. Just the little rough triangle shaped-step in the barrel to hold the ejector rod instead of a full shroud. As I mentioned, my buddies 65-5 was a Ladysmith that they just sandblasted the "Ladysmith" logo off of at the S&W factory, and it has the full shroud like the other woman's revolver (black hand grips) on that website.

What I am looking for, would be a full Military and Police diameter Bull barrel, with the added benefit of a full shroud. The little bit of extra weight helps more with recoil and protects the ejector rod better. It also stiffens up the barrel quite a bit (much like a bull barrel does) and that help quite a bit with accuracy.

Nice pic of the Ladysmith though! Thanks!
