Bullet and Powder Questions for .223

I load plinking ammo for my S&W Sport I.

Hornady 55gr FMJ bullets, crimped at the cannelure
H335 powder
CCI Small Rifle Magnum Primers (my manual says use a magnum primer with ball powder - which H335 is)

H335 measures like a dream in my RCBS Uniflow powder measure. I've used W748 - and that meters well, too. But my go-to powder is H335.

BLC-2

H335/(WC842) is usually considered the 5.56mm NATO powder and BL-C(2)/(WC846) the 7.62mm NATO powder. Either will work in each cartridge, just not as well. BL-C(2) will perform better in the .223 with heavier bullets.
I us BLC-2 with Hornady 75 gr bullets and get 1/4 in. groups in my MGM .223 Contender barrel. So yes I believe you are correct.
